It seems that some have selective memories, when it comes to Russia.
Who is indiscriminately bombing the Syrian towns and people? -Russia.
Who is using chemical warfare in Syria? Russia.
All of the methods of attack used in Ukraine have been tested and tried y he Russians in Syria.
The only president that I know of, that is milking the country dry is Putin, with estimates of between $150 - 200b.

261, and 265, I agree entirely with what you both say, war is a horrible destructive for lives of innocent people, my post was not meant to demean that, but to point out that this particular situation in Ukraine, could and would destroy lives on a scale that is unbelievable . In an ideal world there would not be arms sale to other countries, but as usual, money controls most of what goes on. lets all hope that this situation comes to a halt soon, kt

#266 John I can’t understand why Russia didn’t join NATO either. ? 0r is it too obvious to Russia that NATO is there only to check the likes of themselves. Must in that case give a decidedly inferior complex to the average Russian. As soon as the last war finished it seems apparently the next one was already in its birth pangs. Politics whatever they are have a lot to answer for. JS

Churchill also had those sentiments probably why he wasn’t re-elected. I know all my family all mostly all ex veterans wouldn’t vote for him , as his reputation in general among the working class was he was a warmonger .He was a man for his times apparently and that was it. Russia apart from everything else including their politics ,probably lost more In the last war than any other country. They also had every reason to celebrate. They have been the big bad wolf as long as I can remember. JS.

    John.
That would put the creep of Nato since the end of the second world war, a war where Russia lost around 50 million people right on Russia's border, do you think it would stop there? I think that would have made a third world war even more inevitable.

Latest news, Putin has put forward a four point plan to end the war, includes a one to one with Ukraine president and Ukraine accept the Crimea as part of Russia.
    All worked through by Turkey.

As to Churchill, when the war rooms were opened after the 30 year period required before such can be, plans were found drawn up by him for the war to still be going on in 1960.
He was indeed a war monger who enjoyed the war and all the accolades that went with it.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

I believe he was captured once, can't remember in the first war or the Boar, he gave his word he wouldn't escape as a gentleman, but he did.

Dont believe a word of what Putin says mate, the War is far from over, he is playing his Games of time.
Putin is a Man who will not accept defeat , and will carry n to the end i feel??

Russia is even now saying that it was not their Forces that destroyed that Theatre with the sad loss of so many, and that it was the Force of the Left Wing Azov Battalion?? Now how could that be , i ask as if i am not mistaken are they not a group of the Ukranian Guards???

    All very weird!
    Cheers

Thanks for that post, maybe people will realise that the smiling President of the Ukraine isn't all soft and gooey. AT the start of all this Putin did warn the West that Fascists were in control of the Ukraine, the Comic President said that he couldn't be one as he was a Jew, there were many Jews in the German Army.
