Blair, the weapons of mass destruction PM has stated that if this is not resolved in the next two weeks then NATO will need to take action!!!!!!!!!!!

Well Mr bloody Blair, this time there are weapons of mass destruction known as atom bombs so be very careful what you wish for.

Oil down again last night with India now buying on the open market oil from Russia.

Germany has said it will no longer buy gas or oil from Russia, fine but where will they get all their energy from for manufacturing etc?

But what is happening in Ukraine is sinful to say the least.
If Russia continue all they will gain is a pile of rubble, cost billions to rebuild and years if not decades to do so.

It must be getting near again for Russia to be in the Chair again at the U.N. maybe they will sort it out ? JS

As for Bliar maybe he thinks he has been cleared of all blame and back in the good books since receiving his ladies Garter. And people will have to now listen to him again. It may even get him a free ticket into Madam Tussaud’s where he is hoping no doubt to get his effigy put up and where he will spend most of his time admiring it and keeping it in fighting trim. And making sure no one has attached rude remarks to. What a twit. JS

60 years ago a very similar facade was being played out , but the the Soviet President was Krushev. It was caused by the same motive. borders in Europe and who was being armed with what. There must plenty on here who must remember and it points out the continuing mistakes made in history. They called it the Cuban blockade and had the exact same sentiments but just running on parallel tracks. Today you have a probable Russian brought up and probably many more, in the past history of his country , thinking he can rearrange Europe to what he hopes it should be. History in a lot of cases does repeat itself. There was a contingency then for a nuclear war slim those one chances of survival were, that probably no doubt hasn’t changed either. JS

#259 Thank goodness Putin was only a pup then ,only 9 years of age , and probably told to speak when spoken to. The world is full of Putin’s , most are wolves in sheep’s clothing. They are the runts of the litter , and always want to be what they aren’t . JS

Still thousands of children being killed in Yemen with great help from American arms, tell me the difference between a mothers love for her kids in Yemen, and the Ukraine, or any other war, war is evil, where ever it is carried out. I don't agree with what Putin is doing, the only thing I say is it could have been avoided by the Ukraine President singing a stipulation that Ukraine would never join Nato or the EU.

What is the Opinion now of all , just asking as the latest i see is that the USA is going to supply Ukraine with a lot of extra Arms and Ammunition.
Is this not against what was said before, that they would not get involved in the War, as to fears that it could lead to an all our WW3 one???

I am a wee bit confused , as to who can and cannot send Arms etc ?? Surely if anyone does, that will be fully against Putin's outbursts that as he said "If anyone interferes it will mean War"

#262 My thoughts only if there is a break through in an agreement it will only come with a signed agreement as specified earlier that no action against Russia for criminal activities , and the excuse as Des says that the Ukraine ceases any attempts to join the
E.U. or NATO, which was the first demand , and if conceded to , can mean that all the destruction up to now was unnecesary. that can only be assumed true if Putin was genuine in his first demands. Otherwise my guess is probably the same as others Ukraine will become a no mans land , and a buffer between Russia and other free European communities. JS

Supply by USA to Ukraine with weapons is a bit risky.
It all depends on how Putin views that, is it USA joining in or just assisting?
Story coming out of USA that Navy Seals are being trained in ways to remove Putin.
Just media speculation at this point, but no fire without smoke.

Reports today from Ukraine sources that large numbers of Russian soldiers are giving them selves over to Ukraine as defeated men.

Ukraine president has said he will not pursue membership of NATO now.

I must agree with your very good post Des that all this perhaps cannot be laid at Putin's door only. Does one believe the rumours about all the American owned and operated Bio-labs
with the permission on the Ukranian president , of the vast fortune this man has and of the insideous eastward creep of NATO borders. Like you Des , I do not agree with Russian
agression and once again it is the ordinary folk that suffer but is the blame all one-sided ?.
