Re: EU and our PM.
In all the discussions about Britain's membership of the EU and Camerons re-negotiation of our membership, not one person has talked about the biggest crock of ****e in the EU and that is the European Commissioner's. This is an unelected body of people who are appointed by the various governments of the EU members and from what I understand they are the ones that set the agenda for the EU parliament to debate, but whatever the outcome of the debate only minor changes to the laws and treaties can be made so in essence EU member states are ruled by an unelected body of people the majority of whom you would not trust as far as you could throw them and are the most self-centred bunch of hypocrites you could ever hope to see whose sole interest seems to be how much they can get there snouts into the trough.

Re: EU and our PM.
Again i cannot believe these comedians that run the EU, they have just announced that they have given Greece 3 months to fix their border controls, or face suspension from the free border zone for up to 2 years. If we are pi**** with of with bloody daft Europe, just imagine how the Greeks feel, they must think they are the kicking stool for Europe, kt

Re: EU and our PM.
John, correct the European Parliament is just a window dressing, the real power is the unelected commission, 25 rejects from member states. The commission sets the agenda, the EU Parliament discuses the proposals but cannot make any changes.
When any major incident occurs notice how the EU Commission puts up the bullshit deflectors, typical example the current migrant problem, its the open border agreement that is exacerbating the situation, what does the EU do? Blames Greece and tells them to fix it.
Another example Doreset and Cornwall fishermen are not allowed to fish in the UK side of the channel, but Froggie boats are.

Vic

#40, For anyone who missed it.

Two thirds of the audience in N.I. when asked, voted by a show of hands, that they would stay in Europe. That was more enlightening than the entire panel who were as dull as dishwater.....Thought last night's edition equally lack lustre

Re: EU and our PM.
The vote, if and when you get it, will be a case of self survival. People wil vote according to what is best for them, not so much the country. The matter of currency ease when travelling to EU will weigh heavy for some. Going on holiday in Spain or Italy without the need for passports will influence others. Business men who deal with EU will no doubt want to stay, and so it goes.
But where has democracy gone in the EU. Ruled by a group of unelected persons.
Democracy, government of the people, by the people, for the people. No taxation without representation.

John, Britons cannot get on a plane or ferry without their passports, so whether in or out nothing will change in that respect, we are not part of the schengan agreement, which is falling apart anyway

Re: EU and our PM.
Is A. Merkel now getting cold feet over the EU as I see she is now backing Cameron's changes, though exactly what he is demanding to be changed I'm still waiting to find out. Not heard anything about changes to Common Fisheries, Agriculture etc. policies yet. Border control we already have with citizens from outside of the EU and the only control he wants over them is to deny them benefits for 4 years, which is a bit of a sop to his stay in buddies, rather than preventing them coming here in the first place.

Whatever happened about the bananas being too curved. Was that law ever enforced. Kept me amused for weeks. JS

#48 Too true Cappy can remember going down to London about 1966 for an interview for a job on the sludge ships. About 20 persons waiting for about 3 jobs. These jobs had already been filled and the Council officers were just going through the motions of showing all was fair and above board. Another artifice widely adopted in todays society. Cheers JS
