Re: scottish politics
Is that right the wooden legs are hollow to drink the cognac out of, also believe Mary takes hers off to use as such. Rob told me she also wore her swiss contraband wrist watch on the leg so as to time him, this also left her arm free for the arm wrestling afterwards. She must have been a formiddable opponent, no wonder they called her the shore bosun, although believe she also did a few run jobs when business was bad. Cheers John S

Re: scottish politics
many a poor sailor drank what they thought was cognac from marys fur lined cup....but alas after the bliss of the lovemaking was over they discovered otherwise.....and a visit to the green room at the old ingham hospital in shields was often required ....not always succesfully aswoodrot is not easily cured and an amputation is often needed ......verified by that well known nurses saying ....you will only feel a little prick......

and no doubt the little prick was nothing more than a splinter of Mary's wooden leg. I had heard she used it to beat the living daylights out of any one who could not satisfy her, there must have been a lot of little pricks around then.

Re: scottish politics
OVER-OPTIMISTIC JOCKS.
Dear Mr Cameron, we hear what you say,
You're happy to take, if we're willing to pay,
But we have our ideas, they're better than yours,
So tread your own path, for we're going down oors.
Now soon we'll be going and leaving behind,
A life that's been hard, not joyous, or kind,
As you strut round the world, stirring everyones pot,
Your'e happy for the haves to forget the have nots.
Well that's not our mindset, we want fairness for all,
We may trip on our journey, we might falter, or fall,
But the baton will be picked up, by those coming behind,
Our life will improve, be more just and more kind.
A wee country like ours, does not need or want strife,
We don't want our young killed, or trained to to take life,
We've no need for your wars, being fought in our name,
No more do we want our heads bowed in shame.
We've got folk who are willing to care for our old,
We've got water for all, but we don't want it sold,
With the wind and the tide, you'll see our lights shine,
No more will it be, whats yours is now mine.
Our main riches are people young vibrant and strong,
Who will look back and wonder what took us so long,
The naysayers and doom mongers have had there last chance,
The wallflowers will be left, while we sing and we dance,
So with fire in our bellies and a light in our een,
We'll march forward to victory in 2014.
FOURO.

Re: scottish politics
I believe someone should tell Salmon/Sturgeon that Braveheart was a film not a documantary , and Mel Gibson is an aussie - yank , although it is a bit like the policies all bluster no substance . I just trust the people of Scotland will honestly consider if Cameron/Osbourn/Moribund /Balls and the other one really are bluffing about sterling , I think they might not be , I also think NATO and EU Membership is not as automatic as the SNP think

#13... If no one answered re valuation. There used to be a difference in the value of the Scottish pound, not legally, but even in England used to lose 6 pence in the value when using, had something to do with the Linen Bank of Scotland at the time. If remember the Scottish pound note was blue also. Was very hard to change abroad, all this before Mr. Salmonds time. He is just a child in the eyes of a lot of us, a very stupid one also, in my time woud have been sitting in the corner of the class with a Dunces hat on. JS

Re: scottish politics
in all the time I have spent in England I never was once short changed in any shops with my Scottish pound notes.
My sister while in Wales had the shop keeper was going to be charged with De valued the scottish pound. The policeman agreed with her.
So really it never happened unless you the customer allowed it.
In liver pool the pubs would ask me if I had any. If any spare Scottish pounds going , I'll take them off your hands.
As I have said before. " The more the MP's come up from London and open the goobs the more people will vote yes"
So please Mp's don't tell me 1/2 truths.

Braveheart was a film not a documantary , and Mel Gibson is an aussie - yank ,
But he did do the Scottish accent very well, the make up was great though I am not sure the blue on his face went with the color of his eyes!
