I remember going into the crew,s mess for our Sunday Lunch aboard a hains boat the steward brought in plates full of spam salad Main course, A scouse AB That was with us asked the steward W.T.F. is that where low on rations said the steward. Tony the A.B. Took a portion off him walked into the officers mess and picked up the Chief Stewards roast beef and spuds. And sat beside him eating it now you enjoy mine he said. It cost him 3 day,s pay but the Chief Steward was gobsmacked.
