It would be nice to put them all together in one page or so, as a Memorial . Apart from his memory it is a very interesting story of life in the Philipines and how he was able to live and survive from day to day there with their way of life etc.
Just an idea,
Cheers

Hello Brian
A very nice thought, and I too was reading all his Posts Yesterday on that Thread, actually to myself and to Irene as well!
It would be nice, the only problem there is that if I did that, then that thread would become a bit of a puzzle to some! As there would then be just replies without the actual posts of Tony.s
I could however replicate the post and put just those of his in another Thread as a sort of Memorial to him,I don't know what others think of this! Possibly if they can give a bit of feedback on this idea,I could then judge if it would be a good thing!
Will await and see what responses I get on this!
Thank you for the suggestion I think its a good one!
Cheers
Doc

Hi Vernon,
That is just what I meant just a one off that no one replies to, A Memorial page for his posts that would just contain his posts on his move and experiences in Cebu, A lot of very interesting material in those.
Cheers

No Colin, he died of a heart attack a few days before the storm, and is obviously sadly missed here on board this site KT

No Colin he died of a Heart Attack after his Illness ! It was a wee bit before that terrible Typhoon!
However there was apparently an Earthquake very near the time of his Death, and his Stepson thinks that possibly it may, (that is may) have had a hand in his passing!
Thanks

hi doc with ref to the poll .........I will follow the majority happily ......but as to that same idea for me .......I should not like it as ......there may be things I have quoted on the site which I would not like my family to see......in a time of grief .........as I have said on the sight things which I feel should be kept in the seamans domain......specially on some of the goings on abroad......respectfully cappy

Re: Tony Wilding (This really shook me )
#46... Cappy years ago in the late 60"s I was away for a year on a foreign flag ship, trading in the Far East to the Eastern Seaboard and up the Great Lakes of Canada. Whilst up the Great Lakes whilst at a party I met a young lady who I corresponded with for a number of years. However my wife received a letter supposedly from this lady claiming all sorts of misbehaviour. My wife sent the letter immediately back to me with a very terse note saying she didn't think it funny. It almost broke our marriage up. On accosting the girl I showed her the letter which she denied and also pointed out her name was spelt wrong and the date was written the English way not like the Americans put. As was a Chinese crew with 6 Europeans on board, we finally narrowed it down to the second mate who had paid off in Montreal on some excuse before I got receipt of this letter. He was at the time going through a divorce, so maybe in his twisted mind he thought I should have the same problems. It was also seen that it had been written on my typewriter. My wife and myself have never mentioned this for over 40 years, her mother however thought the worse so I was not getting into a slanging match over it. Keep your friends close to you and such as the likes of the person who did this as far away as possible. Promise I wont tell Pat about your younger life. Best Regards John Sabourn
