Re: missing sub
Apparently their defense Minister was non to pleased with the navy hierarchy, he learned of the disappearance of the sub from the media and not the admiralty.
Strange situation.

Re: missing sub
Latest from the Argentine's is that two short satellite call attempts have recently been detected, giving rise to hopes that there's still some of the crew alive. There will be three rescue chambers in the area shortly.

Re: missing sub
Hi All.
When the Russian sub the Kursk went down it was a few days before they found it, the Russian Govt refused help from both Britain and the States, which may have saved the men that were still alive, I think they survived for about five days, one writing a diary of the events. Putin was abused by the men's wives at a meeting later and had to leave, I would like to think that the same thing wouldn't ever happen again, the few more trinkets that one country has over another is not worth one life.
Cheers Des

Re: missing sub
It seems very suspicious that the Admiral in charge of submarines has suddenly resigned his post as I've said earlier in this thread someone somewhere is covering something up and when you have 44 men's lives involved then I think that it is heart-rending that this could happen

Re: missing sub
There was a similar case of death in the China sea Des, within the time I have lived out here. Where a commercial diving support vessel went down in bad weather. She had divers in the saturation chambers at the time. They had no chance if they came out of chambers they were dead and if stayed in were dead. There was very little came out media wise probably because it was a commercial vessel. That must have been a divers worse nightmare as whilst in saturation his life is dependant on those outside the chambers. Cut them out and the false atmosphere they are living in, and they are gonners. Deaths at sea come in all different forms, shapes and sizes. I can only congratulate anyone who spent their life at sea and not seen at least one death. Cheers JWS.
