Re: Service
Hitler thought the Luftwaffe ruled the skies but this came to an end when they lost the Battle of Britain.
With the air war against Britain being unsuccessful, Hitler postponed all plans for the invasion of Britain. Instead, he ordered the Luftwaffe to transfer its entire resources to Eastern Europe. By doing this the Fuhrer had decided he would bring Churchill to his knees and achieve final victory in the war, not by conquering Britain, but by conquering Russia.

Re: Service
When the war rooms in Whithall were opened after the mandatary 30 year wait they found books written by Churchill.
In them plans for the war to be still going on in 1960, and the comment that now the USA has joined us the war will be shortened.
Did he enjoy the war?
A very good mate of mine was an apprentice chef at the London Savoy hotel at the time of the war.
He told how the wingers hated Churchill turning up for lunch in the Savoy Grill as most time she was as full as a boot and gave them a hard time. Eat very little, drank a lot of Brandy while puffing on his cigar.

Louis, there were a lot of airmen in the R.A.F. from a number of Commonwealth countries. Australian ones numbered at about 30.
Many were flying out of Biggin Hill being billeted in the village of Cobham in Kent.
The most well known being Keith Miller the Australian cricketer.
He arranged matches between Australian airmen and the local Cobham cricket club.

Re: Service
I have highlighted this infamous speech hoping it makes you all realise how close we came to joining the Dodo Bird had we not defeated the Luftwaffe.
