Re: Service
..rob that is what is the way certain folk would like to make it out ...i am sure no one in his right mind wants proper benefits stopped ..that is not in the debate but of course the left trend is to make it into the debate......i am on about ....the workshy ..the alkis the junkies the bums and stiffs and the great unwashed who now believe benefits are a method of going through life ......well to me that is a no go...not including the state pension. if the benefits are given to the above mentioned then that is penalising and cutting the benefits of those who do work and the sick and disabled who need it .......it doesnt matter whether its a 10000......100000 a million or billions it is wrong .....that is fact...cappy

Re: Service
Cappy I couldn't agree with you more about workshy people but I don't know whether these great unwashed have dropped out of the system.I was going bananas here last night when the news was on and it showed the new anti fracking camp that has been set up and all these young people camping on it,I was shouting at the TV.dont the bs/tds go to work.I can only think that they are self sufficient as I don't believe that they would be in receipt of benefits as the system is today.I do object to genuine people being called all the names under the sun for not working,a man of 55 comes out of work what chance has he got of getting a job,no chance I should imagine. Most people who are out of work would go to work tomorrow given half the chance. £4.2 billion unemployment bill, nothing,Mrs May has just given a quarter of that amount away to N.I. to prop up her government.

Re: Service
Jim those figures were on Google,.
Also My OAP, State Pension which I paid for out of my wages, every month for over 50 years, is Taxed. They give it with one hand and take it back with the other.
So If they Tax my State Pension, what would be wrong to Tax the Benefits????.
The professional bums in my avenue get a lot more money than I do and NO TAX. That is Wrong.
Everyone should pay TAX over their allowance.

Re: Service
Jim, same in Nottingham, the anti frackers are trying to boycott a firm that supplies pipes to the oil industry. Lots of them appear to be youngish, if they are on benefits, stop the payments. They are also breaking the law, on benefits should be available for work at all times.

Re: Service
Vic all I can see is,the benefit system is so strict now if you are as little as 10 minutes late for your appointment you can be sanctioned for as long as 2 months, that means no money for 2 months. On a weekly basis you have to prove what jobs you have applied for, none = sanctioned. All these reclaim the streets people who squat en-mass in a building, the great unwashed if you like, they wont get benefits as the don't have an address.

Re: Service
The Queen and royal family bring in untold amounts to the nation in the form of tourists who come to see the palace and other places of interest.
Jim your system of no money if you do not comply was introduced here two years ago with some success.
But would you want anything other than a monarchy, such as a dictator or president?
There has been a push here for many years to make Oz a republic, fine in theory but one small problem the republicans conveniently forget to mention, the constitution will have to be rewritten. You cannot just replace the word monarch with the word president.
On numerous occasion on talk back radio the republicans have said, 'it will be alright on the night" they fail to put forward a reasonable case for change.

Happy daze John in Oz.
