They won't do that Rob, they are a vociferous minority wanting to be a louder majority backed by our National broadcaster and we are to be bombarded with it all next week on the ABBC, and yes we have an 'off' switch but regardless of that it is advertised on all ABBC channels between programmes and on the news channels, which are of course run by members of the LBGT

What was shameful and hidden years ago is now accepted , a person has no say in how they are born. Many of the gay men we all sailed with came to sea to be themselves and not be judged by narrow minded people ashore. Live and let live there is a place for all.

I have no problem with acceptance Louis , after all what might Alan Turin have gone on to achieve ? the old laws were a tragedy , I have problems with over enthusiastic promotion , my preferences in life mean that i prefer not to watch " camp " behaviour , I think there is to much of it on TV . Many of the men at sea were their to escape persecution and prosecution . but let's not over compensate for yesterdays mistakes

Don't disagree with what you say Louis, however I don't think any of us are talking about anyone who was born with mixed hormones, rather we are talking about people who think it is a fashion statement to be in the 'different' club. My wife and I have gay friends of both sexes who are very nice people and keep it to themselves, we are talking about those people who want to push in in your face and if you are not one of them then you are not normal. The gay people I sailed with never flaunted it, but then again I never sailed on passenger ships

##there may be a place for them all louis ..well let it be your place not mine..i am also sick of every bloody time you put the tele on or pick up a paper it is about this minority ...strangely enough never been on big ships so only came across two of them at sea ...one raped a young ist tripper and the other minced about at night in a brides outfit ...funny the ist couple of nights then a bloody nuisance to the majority......let them get on with it by all means ....but not screaming and shouting from the roof tops in my manor.......i suppose when it is accepted by all and the furore dies down ...someone will want to marry his horse or sheep ......well let them get on with that as you say there is a place for all....cappy

the problem with a vociferous minority is , shout loud enough , people cave in , already some want the age of consent for both sexes reduced , cannabis legalised , terrorists freed , Scotland devolved , where when and how will it end , political correctness is a swamp for festering lawyers , lets call black pudding Bury pudding , Pizza , I talian style flat bread , etc

A steward was showing me photographs taken on his leave. In one there are three "women" sitting at a table in a nightclub , their dresses and jewellery to me looked very expensive. On the table an ice bucket with champagne and a VIP sign. He said the blonde on the left is him , the blonde on the right is his friend. Did I recognise the dark haired "woman" in the centre ?
I looked closely she looked familiar but I couldn't place her until he told me it was Cliff Richard.
Cliff has always denied being gay so perhaps he just likes dressing up in a frock for a night out with the boys.

I'm sure there are quite a few entertainers who sociably cross-dress I don't have a problem with that . I would let them get on with it I do have a problem when I have to watch it because if you turn over use only find it's in the adverts for a program that's coming soon . I think my problem is that I find the whingy whining voice that you often get just becomes irritating . Some of the catering department with Union Castle had some interesting backgrounds and no doubt some interesting stories and as you said earlier A lot were away at sea to avoid the prosecution and persecution that you got in a narrow minded environment at home
