You may well call them tactile aids and on occasions they may well have been. But if you were to use that term with many a young lady you may well find yourself out of favor with her. Many of our Chinese neighbors do not have tactile aids that are as prominent as some of those in the west. many of the keyboards now on sale are made in china, such as the one I have with no tactile aids anywhere.

Talking about tactile aids John did you know the correct word for the dot above the 'i' or 'j' is a tittle?
And yes, I agree Chinese tittles are usually about three sizes smaller (I'm being generous there) than Western tittles.I suppose you could say they are little tittles. I think the Chinese expression for them is Woo Hee !
Poor Vernon says his keyboard is so ancient there are no raised nipples on it,so I don't think he'll find any tittles there either,little or large.
Perhaps this thread should now be renamed No-Touch Typing.
