Those so called "pranksters" are typical of the majority of youth today who must have FUN at any price. Irresponsible beyond our understanding to get a rise out of people for whom they have no respect.

Les , I am sure that I am more Sinner than Saint , but in the first post I wrote on this Thread , I referred ti Andrew Sachs and the "Trick " played on him by Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand , and I think that was pretty sick , eh ! but Andrew Sachs did not die , but I still think that attempts at public humiliation of anyone innocent person not necessary and I don't watch Ross or Brand , and I , up till then had watched Jonathan Ross' Friday Night show

I still think that impersonating another person with intent to decieve should be against the law, and to wantonly impersonate our royalty should be a cast iron case for a court action. This action by those two/three morons amounts to nothing different from phone hacking, which in my view is only made by the lowest forms of human life.

You are right Les, there are many things in my past I am not proud of and no doubt I am not alone in this. But these were generally done in anger or retort or heat of the moment. I do not spend hours of every waking day sitting down with my team planning how to humiliate, ridicule, or otherwise upset someone to play up to an audience of morons. The station owners cannot put up the defence of "totally unforeseen", if you play enough tricks on enough people you will eventually come across one who cannot handle it. These stunts are just another form of bullying, they do it because they can. In a face to face situation they'd brick it because they know they would collect a bunch of fives with amazing regularity.

    Same as before.

Be assured that I to am sorry that this nurse ended up brown bread and it should not have happened. I am still of the view that there is more to what pushed her than has been said but then again why let truth get in the way of a good story. Am I the only one that can see the big picture of media stirring up media so as to boost a falling circulation. Really with the amount of deaths either from ones own hand or others this has been blown out of all proportion and as the saying goes will end up as next weeks chips wrapper.
That's the way the mop flops.

My thanks to Brian for this site.

    Default THE WOODEN BOWL:

    Food for thought …

"By the grace of God, I am what I am." 1 Corinthians 15:10*

    Subject: The Wooden Bowl*

    The Wooden Bowl:

I guarantee you will remember the tale of the Wooden Bowl tomorrow, a week from now, a month from now,
    a year from now.

A frail old man went to live with his son, daughter-in-law, and four-year old grandson.

The old man's hands trembled, his eyesight was blurred, and his step faltered.

The family ate together at the table. But the elderly grandfather's shaky hands and failing sight made eating difficult. Peas rolled off his spoon onto the floor. When he grasped the glass, milk spilled on the tablecloth.

The son and daughter-in-law became irritated with the mess.

'We must do something about father,' said the son 'I've had enough of his spilled milk, noisy eating, and food on the floor.'

So the husband and wife set a small table in the corner.

There, Grandfather ate alone while the rest of the family enjoyed dinner.

Since Grandfather had broken a dish or two, his food was served in a wooden
    bowl.

When the family glanced in Grandfather's direction, sometimes he had a tear in his eye as he sat alone.

Still, the only words the couple had for him were sharp admonitions when he dropped a fork or spilled food.

The four-year-old watched it all in silence.

One evening before supper, the father noticed his son playing with wood scraps on the floor.

He asked the child sweetly, 'What are you making?' Just as sweetly, the boy responded,

'Oh, I am making a little bowl for you and Mama to eat your food in when I grow up.

'The four-year-old smiled and went back to work.

The words so struck the parents so that they were speechless. Then tears started to stream down their cheeks. Though no word was spoken, both knew what must be done..

That evening the husband took Grandfather's hand and gently led him back to the family table.

For the remainder of his days he ate every meal with the family... And for some reason, neither husband nor wife seemed to care any longer when a fork was dropped, milk spilled, or the tablecloth soiled.

On a positive note, I've learned that, no matter what happens, how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow.

I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she
    handles a few things:

a rainy day: the elderly, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights.

I've learned that making a 'living' is not the same thing as making a
    'life..'

I've learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance.

I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt on
both hands. You need to be able to throw something back sometimes.

I've learned that if you pursue happiness, it will elude you.

But, if you focus on God, your family, your friends, the needs of others,
your work and doing the very best you can, happiness will find you

I've learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart, I usually
    make the right decision.

I've learned that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one.

I've learned that every day, you should reach out and touch someone..

People love that human touch -- holding hands, a warm hug, or just a
    friendly pat on the back.

I've learned that I still have a lot to learn.

This is to all of you who mean something to me.

    I pray for your happiness.

May your God richly bless you!

Apparently these 2 clowns who kept on broadcasting the telephone conversation , Even after this girls suicide have broke the law both here and in OZ, Scotland Yard want a word in there ear, You cant broadcast a telephone conversation live on the airwaves in either country without the consent of all involved. Is this radio station going to help out with the 2 teenage kids she left behind. And they are receiving counseling after receiving death threats. A lot of people on both sides are not happy with these 2 idiots. This girl was of Asian origin and worked there for 5 yrs. She obviously took her work seriously and professionally. May she R.I.P. Terry with all due respect the hospital in question has a lot to answer on this one. The two radio persons ahve not done anything illegal.
Did the hospital not consider that while the Duchess was in there the possibility of somethin untoward happeneing might occur. did they not realise the Queen does not make personal call, she would get a secretary to phone first. The telephone protocol of the hospital is far from perfect if call such as this can get through?
As for broadcasting from another countrty without permission, that is not a crime under international law according to lawyers here.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

    .

Under the Law of the United Kingdom they have recorded a telephone conversation without informing the person who was being recorded (Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000 (RIPA)), and they have broadcast the conversation without the third party's permission ,under OFCOM regulations . So HERE , they have broken two laws , Realising that they are broadcasting from Sydney , these laws will not apply outside our borders . I believe that in Australia
The federal Telecommunications (Interception) Act 1979 and State and Territory listening devices laws may both apply to this activity. We have just suffered a long enquiry here by Lord justice Leveson into disgraceful behaviour by the media , mainly by News International , Rupert Murdoch's brand . We might just be a tad sensitive about the media , News International were tapping Illegally peoples private telephone calls , but in the case of missing girl Milly Dowler , they erased some of the answer phone messages leading the Police and her parents to believe that she was still alive even after she was cruelly murdered . But Hey Ho it is there to wrap the chips in the week after , yes we are taking it badly here , because of behaviour like that , could have adversely affected the outcome of the trial of the murderer . Disgraceful conduct by the media , just may lead to Government restriction of the Free Press . Unfortunately the legality doesn't stretch Internationally to what is good taste .
