From TS Dolphin Leith 65/66 joined for coast as galley boy on Ben Cleuch May 66? First time abroad. Coast included Rotterdam and Hamburg.
Then galley boy on Benvorlich, took RAF Javelin jet on deck: Suez, Penang, Port Sweetenham, Seletar (offload Javelin), Singapore, Hong Kong, Yokohama, Shimizu, Nagoya, Kobe, Keelung, Kaohsiung then back to UK via Hong Kong.
Left MN in 68 and joined RAF - must have been inspired by the Javelin.

Anyone kicking about that was on Benarty Feb 1976 until July 76. The trip we hit a Rock/Reef going into Puerto Rico, West indies to land a young deck cadet who had broken his wrist/arm. Start of trip we were in Middlesborough loading a large 180 ton lift for Korea, day we due to sail tugs on strike, think stuck for a week.Mate made us relash this deck cargo, which went all way up port side for,d. Bosun was the Beast,Jackie Callender his side kick AB/Bosun.
