Re: Ben Line
Can I make a suggestion, I am not Ben Line but ex B&C and have produced a web site on that company (see link below)
I am not suggesting that you go to all that trouble but I found it very useful to open a Facebook page under the company's name and get then to register there.
That way they can exchange info and pics etc etc.
It is completely free and very easy to set up.
Kind regards
Chris

Re: Ben Line
Any ex. Ben Line lads ever sail with a Jock Dunwoodie from Granton, whose father owned a business in Granton running crew boats out of there along with a sail loft on the quayside. He served his time as a deck cadet in Ben Line around 1966 to 1970. I sailed with him later on tankers in C.P. a couple of times. He was 2nd mate and I was 3rd mate. A cracking guy who I think left the sea and took over the business after a family tragedy I believe.

Re: Ben Line list
Mike,
I was on the BenMacdhui out of KGV in August (?) 1965 where we sailed to Rotterdam, Le Havre, Palermo, through Suez and Port Said to Malaysia and the surrounding countries where we steamed for 3 months approximately before heading back to Europe and flew home to Glasgow.
First trip and a memorable one and I actually saw the ship itself being scrapped at Cairnryan in the 1980's I think it was.
Regards,
David Nicholson

Re: Ben Line list
#95... Douglas was it the ANL you sailed with out here, think I am right the Australian national line, if so did you ever come across a Dave Siggers, would probably have been Ch. Steward or catering officer whatever the title was then. Cheers John S
