believe it or not, the council where about to prune some trees in our avenue before the chinese plague, and one person along where i live got a petition together saying that the grey squirrel was in danger, and asked me to sign it, i told him that the red squirrel was a protected species and that it was actually legal in the uk to shoot and eat them, he and his wife now will not even speak to my wife and i no longer.

Thomas read my posts I do not single out any faith, I call them all out be it mick mack or paddywack.
#35 All a grey squirrel is, is a rat with a bushy tail. Nasty wee rodent who will destroy the wiring in your loft if allowed to remain there. I was thankful to a grey squirrel once on Arrowe Park golf course though. I was playing a bloke for a £10er. I was 2 down at the 12th and as we had a delay on the tee seemed a good time for a coffee break. The guy I was playing with tried feeding a squirrel from a packet of crisps he was eating. He held out the crisp and it nearly took the end of his finger off. I never lost a hole from there on in, and yes I did take the £10er, a bet is a bet.

Re: History what history?
Lewis the segregation of children from unmarried mothers and others also went on in the south in large numbers.
But here in Oz we had more than our fair share of child abuse.
After the war Oz and a couple of other countries needed to increase population.
From the UK they brought young kids who had been told their parents had been killed in the bombing.
Taken in by many religeous organisations and many abused.
But up until the mid 60's children were being taken from unmarried mothers here.
Good friend of ours was one, her son taken away, she did find him about 30 years later but he wanted nothing to do with her.
been told his mother did not want him.

Re: History what history?
Victoria, it was a terrible time for so many.
Few years ago a lady in WA was reunited with another family member.
She had ben sent out here to Oz after being told all he family were killed in the war.
By some chance many years later she found out the truth and was reunited.
There were so many out there treated in a similar manner and often sexually abused by the church people who were said to be 'caring' for them.
