Re: Ukraine
If this had been a western country that started this invasion, the left would be out on the streets surrounding the Embassy of which ever country was involved. Now Russia, the aggressor, not one peep from the left, McDonald, Corbyn and Abbot strangely quiet, I wonder why?

Re: Ukraine
Those that think NATO is a big threat to Russia, my argument would be that we have in fact gone the other way, we ourselves have been running our armed forces down for many years, and most of the European countries have been doing the same, America, has stated it did not want get into others problems, and bailed out in certain areas, so Putin has seen us as weakened, and made his move. If the Ukraine manages to keep its freedom after this, just think of the cost of rebuilding alone. Now think how much extra war machine such as tanks , aircraft, defence systems etc that they will have to deter Russia, otherwise they will be back . We in the West are going to have to back them for some time yet.

The Rosenbergs if my memory is correct. It’s a funny thing I can’t remember what I did last week, but can still remember the furore what those two caused in the world. JS
The Russians have been ruled by despots for hundreds of years

Re: Ukraine
On the news today, the Russian General of the 49th division has been killed in Ukraine, reported as the 7th most senior officers have now died, several from sniper fire. One of the top sniper in the Ukraine army is a sniper, so doing a lot of damage.

Re: Ukraine
A head shot may mean a different target area to her then Keith , would be worth watching a Russian General dancing around holding his privates, whilst his other privates kept well clear of him. JS

Re: Ukraine
So now the EU have agreed to buy American gas. ?? is this what this war is all about. The USA just loves a war as long it is far away from there shores
so they can sell arms , then when it is all over step in and run the oil & gas etc. an own half the country.
After the second war it took the UK 70 years to repay our debt to the USA.
This is why the USA and the NATO poodles pushed Putin into a war.

Re: Ukraine
Thats the one Marian, apparently the snipers are doing a great job on the Russians, several senior officers have been shot. I have just been watching video of the Ukraine using ordinary drones to spot where the Russians are holding out, modern warfare indeed.

Re: Ukraine
Post 335. Are you for real?
Putin massed over 100,00 troops on the Ukraine/Belarus Border, not NATO.
NATO responded.

Re: Ukraine
Quite right Vic, and NATO did respond following the Invasion, probably not enough, lets hope they can increase the backing. I see that the advisors of Biden are trying to downplay his remarks on Putin replacement, but good on him, say it as it is.Also on the radio this morning they are saying that the Russia and Belarus are launching rockets from within their own country, so legitimate targets if we can supply them with something to hit back with.
