Re: Ukraine
Looking at it from a totally different aspect , was Russia ever asked to join the NATO club or where they the n##### in the woodpile and assumed to be the whole reason for the club in the first place. JS

Re: Ukraine
hi john sabourn #101
good morning, that is a good question and it is not as black and white as first percieved,
for if the european union together with the uk and america had not pushed the issue by inviting the ukraine to join nato and in doing so,and trying to change the strategic definition of the border between russia and the west, then none of this would be occuring at this moment in time.

Re: Ukraine
# 101, The USSR held discussions with NATO in 1954, nothing came of it. In recent times there have been informal discussions, but again nothing happened.

Re: Ukraine
1954 Was a year after the war or police action as some liked to refer it as. Of the Korean conflict . Which again was a conflict of political differences . That war was never ended and still exists today. It was a cease fire only . While politicians postulated ,And 69 years later has still not been solved through diplomacy. JS

Re: Ukraine
He probably has finally seen his own mortality rating and stands to go the same way as Mussolini hanging from a lamppost put there by his own followers It will finally if not be to his liking or by or an assassins bullet or knife. But he has to also lose favour with the members of the Poltiburo who are just as guilty as him ,but hiding in the shrubbery. The bloke who made the film Dr. Strangelove was closer to the truth than he knew. JS
To lighten this up a bit just think of what he could be thinking of the inequality of himself and other western leaders , there’s an ex PM of the uk does very similar and he gets the highest civilian honour going . There’s me trying to do my best for Russia and all I can see is a lamppost. Let’s hope they paint it before I become a decoration hanging from it. JS.
PS It only needs one nuclear deterrent no longer being a deterrent , to alter all the theories on climate change , wonder if those who are always greeting about it , have their calculators out yet ? JS

Re: Ukraine
Read an article where Kennedy "Made" the Russians back down and remove their missiles from Cuba, more ignorant reporters, what Russia got in in exchange, Kennedy had to remove his missiles they had slipped into Turkey.

Re: Ukraine
That’s right Des , a half a story is more misleading than a fake story. This is what gets me about the media , just leave a sentence or even a comma out , and the whole fairy story changes its information to the reader. Billy Liar had nothing on the media. JS

Re: Ukraine
John.
When I switch out from my emails, my computer goes to News, don't know who puts it up, probably Yahoo, but I have never read so much rubbish in my life, some people are in a different world.
