According to various reports at one time or another, Putin has allegedly salted $35b out of the Russian economy.
Block access to this money and that might bring him to his senses.

Vic , I know you said that the Biden family has no oil and gas interests in the Ukraine , but all information over here says that the son Hunter has a great
    interest in this industry.

Agree Doc, and as he gets bolder and bolder with no opposition really, he may one day really test the situation , and try Georgia, who i believe are in NATO, .

As regards money for the every day populace of Russia they must be on a par for nearly the lowest paid populance world wide. Cheers They are used to be that way. In 1998 or thereabouts and working on A Russian survey ship off the coast of Australia, the Russian master was on the equivilant of about 58 pounds a month , his wife a teacher in the Ukraine was earning 38 pounds a month. The ship itself carried 35 of a Marine crew and if under western manning would of had 9. When one talks about money one has to assume it is for the country to pay for its imports, at the moment there are countries who will not abide by the rules nato are trying to set up ,e,g. Are some South American countries China, and even India up to now does not agree. Russia believe it or not apart from all the shouting of solidarity does have friends world wide ,who know when to speak and not to speak. It may be an inconvenience to Russia to have his bank credit stopped , but will not have the huge effect some hope for.
All the shouting about the Ukraine joining nato in the first place gave Putin the chance to do what he is doing now. Putin like more of his ilk in Russia has been brought up after the war and saw parts of their Empire disintegrate over their own lifetimes . What has happened has been magnified by poor political and only one response of what they hear all the time, it’s our way or the highway . If Europe especially Germany a former Fascist State was in the forefront of wanting the Ukraine into the boys club , there may have been a different conclusion. Dont forget in your history books which the Russian people also read Germany and Russia had a non action agreement between themselves and were going to divide Poland between themselves, Hitler lost the war because he chose to stab Stalin in the back ,break up the agreement ,invade the Ukraine , and was a quick way of him losing the war. Russia went on with the allies to win the war , and in the consequence afterwards slowly through the word Democracy saw the break up of nearly all its satellite countries . Whatever you say about Putin he is a man of the world he was brought into and brought up in , his patriotism to his own , is not in doubt to my mind. I don’t believe the banks will break him. The only thing they break is the ordinary working man by foreclosing on his mortgage.
    Cheers JS
