Re: Hillsborough BBC 2 9pm
If you google the closures of the mines by your very good Socialist, Harold Wilson a Labour MP for Huyton, , you will find that he closed more mines than anyone in history around 150 mines so he could buy cheap coal from Poland. Thousands of miners were thrown out of work, This was because he signed the Lima Agreement to transfer our Industries to the Third world countries at our expense.
The Lancashire and Yorkshire Textile Cotton and wool Industries were shut down and all the machinery shipped out to India, Wilson devastated British Industry. hundreds of thousands of workers lost their jobs,
BUT That was OK because Wilson was a `Good Socialist.` and a Labour man.
Cheers
Brian

Hope those in denial don't choke on their breakfast! Excerpt below by Harry Phibbs of the Telegraph. Published: April 10, 2013 Below THAT is his source. Feel free to check for yourselves!
"There is the charge that it was Margaret Thatcher who "destroyed" the coal mines and the mining communities. How many times have the BBC broadcast that claim without refutation? Yet the facts show that far more coal mines closed under the Labour Prime Ministers Harold Wilson and James Callaghan."
These are the figures for the sharply declining number of coal mines open each year under those Labour Governments"

Re: Hillsborough BBC 2 9pm
It is quite amazing how Liberal or conservative govs get the blame for nothing of their doing?
Union power here in Oz is one of the reasons we are on an 8 week feral erection campaign, one of the longest ever.
Last week a young painter was pulled up by the union as he is not a memebr and has been on the site for over six months. Told in no certain terms that eh either paid up his dues for the last 12 months or he would be out of a job. Closed shops are illegal here so the employer went to the fair work tribunal who ruled, quite rightly, that the union was out of order and the young man does not have to join if he does not wish to. He is still painting on the same job.

Happy daze John in Oz.
Life is too short to blend in.

Re: Hillsborough BBC 2 9pm
If any one knows anything about the "MINERS" strike, Scargill closed the Pits not Thatcher,
My family was involved, with threats of Violence to him, his children , his wife , his car was smashed up, his windows of his home smashed. not by other Miners but by hired thugs of Scargill s Communist masters.
The Strike was an Illegal one. There was no ballot. The Miners didn't want a strike, they had the best wages, conditions , benefits Pensions, of any occupation in the country.
It was a political plot against the Government.
When the "Strike" was on, Scargill refused to allow the Maintenance men to go down to keep the mines open. Scargill knew what the result would be, and that would be his political aim against the government.
The Roofs in the pits Collapsed, the mines became Flooded, destroying Millions and millions of pounds of equipment that had been paid for by the Tax Payers. the mines were then totally destroyed and impossible to open again, Scargill was jubilant.
several mines were still working during the "Strike" and the men were terrorised, some Miners were killed by the Thugs.
Bolton was a mining town, I worked in the mines for a year while waiting to go to the Vindi when I left school, at Brackley Colliery, one of the mines later shut by Wilson.
All the Miners I knew all said We Do Not Want A Strike, WHY?? Does anyone know what the "Strike" was about?? Why was Scargill creating a "Strike" for nothing??
It was a Left Wing Commie Pinko plot to bring down the democratically elected government,
and the gullible all fell for it and believed the Lies.
I was there and I saw what was happening to mates and my family.
It had Nothing to do with Thatcher, just a Communist Plot is all.
But Left wingers would never admit to the Truth, All those Union "Leaders" were Communists, and the gullible followed them like a bunch of Sheep.[ sorry sheep]
Brian.
