house of lords
Its reported on the BBC news that Lord Hannington says at least half of these so called lords book in for their £300 a day allowance just for the money, what a surprise!!!. He says he needs it to cover his electricity and food bills. The longest he attended was less than 1 hour, and in one month he attended and drew over 5 grand. I dont know for certain , but would not be surprised, that being expenses he would not pay tax?, however another example of how we are having the p*** taken out of us. KT

Re: house of lords
if the lord gets 300pounds a day it should be taxed. If it is classed as expenses there should be proof of purchases.I believe that is the law for all of us.
The trouble with the house of lords is that it was originally made up of proper lords now its made up of party hacks and is seen as a way of union bosses and mp,s having an earn late in life.

Re: house of lords
It's funny since my post regarding the quick turnaround I've just been for my daily paper and this is the front page.A shameless Tory MP has been ripping off the taxpayer for thousands of pounds in a shocking new expenses scam.Pictures show him getting off the tube at 14.36 and he is back on the tube station at 15.02 going home after having signed in for his £300..
Regards.

Re: house of lords
This country is ripe for mass disorder, all the time the p*** is taken by Mps bankers lords etc, 11% pay rises etc the bitterness gets deeper and deeper by those struggling with their situation, and sooner or later it will pop. They should take note of what happened in Russia prior to and during the revolution, it can only be a matter of time before the country explodes, KT KT

Re: house of lords
Two cases histories.
1#
PC Plod to Lord Diddler. "Im investigating allegations that you have been fiddling your expences Sir"
Lord Diddler to PC Plod. "Sorry Officer its all a misunderstanding and I'll sort it out"
PC Plod to Lord Diddler. "Of course you wil Sir I'm so sorry to have bothered you, Good day Sir".
2#
PC Plod to Common Man. "I'm investigating allegations that you have been fiddling you expences Sir"
Common Man to PC Plod. "Sorry Officer its all a misunderstanding and I'll sort it out."
PC Plod to Common Man. "Of course you will Sir but first we will go to the Police Station and you can sit in a cell for a few hours whilst I sort out the paperwork and charge you with Obtaining Monies by Deception . Ill just put you in handcuffs to take you to the Station its just a precaution against you hurting yourself, H&S you know. Come along now"
Hypothetical situations of course, I'm sure you'll agree.
