    Hi Terry,Jim,
We mostly drank in the City centre, but on my many walkabouts over the years I've drank in pubs from Seaforth to the Dingle, and a few inbetween Around Marsh Lane,I remember Peter Murray(Wordsworth St) Tommy McCullough,Eddy Dry and others that are have now faded with time to, Billy and Sammy whatsisname ? Terry, you mentioned Jamie G,in the Boro, I sailed with Hughie Garragher (Arabia.sept,61) and at that time, all the Garraghers drank in the Chaucer. Had a great time there, music and singalongs. Looking back to those Happy times, I must have spent many nights on many different Soffa's in various parts of Liverpool,it being to late (or drunk)to get to the other side of the water.

Hi Peter, the Boro has been gone for many years now,its now made into flats.I know Hughie Carra and his family very well yes the Chaucer was there local.I was once joining a coastal tanker in Preston and as it happened I was on the train with Hughie he was joining a deep sea ship.He was still doing coasters last time I was with him in the Chaucer I think he was the last one of the crowd still at sea.I remember Eddy Dry he went to our school,I lived two streets away from Wordsworth but i cant bring Peter Murray to mind the name Tommy McCullough also rings a bell.Funny enough I think I drank down Marsh Lane more after I left the sea.We used to go in the Queens Knowsley Rd have a couple there as a meeting place then head out to town or where ever.
    Regards.

Terry,as it happens Jamie bought the Borough and made it into flats as an investment. To be honest with you my view is this if you cant say something good about someone say nothing, what kudos did you get from passing your remarks that if you go in the pub you will find Jamie and his dad bladdered.Exaggeration I cannot stand, you even had the wrong pub,the lad goes in there for a pint with his dad and people want to make something of it is this Evertonian speak.Jamie a good lad does lots for charity from a good family and to try and blacken his name (world wide by the way)I take exception to.I have no connection with with Jamie but I cannot stand people trying to "be in the know" when in actual fact they know nothing.Sorry Terry met you a few times and find you to be a great guy but I like to hear people say good things about someone rather than try and denigrate them.
    Regards.

For the life of me can not see how RLT has denigrated anyone. It is not unusual for myself to end up Bladdered when at the pub as it means that I am having a great time and in the company of men I trust to be able to do that. So if he got the wrong pub so what? Probably Bladdered his self and good on him. Do not tell me that you have never ended up in that state yourself mate. Can see another storm in a tea cup coming up. My fondest memories of drinking in the UK was the atmosphere of the local just wish I could recall leaving the pub as many times as I recall going in.
That's the way the mop flops.

My thanks to Brian for this site.

Are you on about ??????? As it happens i know Jamie Carragher,s family better than you know your own, I will say this and no more Jimmy because you have pissed me off with this post. The last time Jamie Carragher and i spoke was to organise a Hillsborough bench in remembrance of one young Gary Church and his old man Dave? The bench is in Seaforth can you tell me were it is and were me my son who organized the event a few other people from the seaforth community and one Everton legend Graham Sharp. Me slag off Jamie Carragher, Get off whatever your on because if that's what you think i was doing you are loosing it bye the way if you ever get talking to Jamie ask him who nearly ran him over outside the Salisbury not that long ago after he had ,had one to many on a Sunday and ran him home to his misses laughing all the way OHHHH Yes James i know his misses and her family i had a subway on south road with them both not that long ago after recommending a mate of mine who got her ,her driving licence. I think you owe me an appology for a toung in cheek post that you obviously took the wrong way i have broad shoulders do you? Terry.

Terry,if you think it's OK to tell the world that Jamie Carragher and his dad can be found most sundays in a pub on Marsh Lane "bladdered" then I owe you any apology,so therefore I apologise for my posting.

Jimmy, I thought you new me better than that, And no i wasn't painting a bad picture of Jamie or his old man for the world to read because the world and his son don't visit this forum seaman mostly guys who read the post and could relate to it in its context because most if not all of us including yourself get bladdered from time to time. Its what we used to call banter. Terry. p.s. my son has just completed the 10k marathon on Merseyside helping to raise £1,000s for childrens charitys on Merseyside who worked with local authority and L.F.C. to erect the memorial bench for young Gary Church who lost his life at Hillsborough and whom i am very proud of.

Terry, the fact that Jamie Carra does such good work for the community (and makes large donations from his own pocket) in my view I would sooner the world know about the good things that he does and not such negative comments which I will not mention again. As you said you have been in contact with him doing good in the community and he is such a good young man.Yes I am guilty of getting more than bladdered on many occassion but then again who am I.So terry we've both had our say so lets leave it at that.
    Regards.
