Default Thanks to the guys who keep this site going.

This is the 1st of May and for some reason I have been in a reflective mood , although most of us dip in and out of this site we do so because it has a special place in our past life and we were part of an adventure that young ones today can only dream of we were fearless, naive, full of bravado and without a care in the world. The Vindi and Gravesend prepared us to cope with our first trips and the various ribbings that we had to cope with until we in turn were in the position to do it to " the first trippers " no matter what rank we sailed as we all experienced a very special time of our lives and share a common bond even after all these years, so a special thanks to the guys who keep this site going I am sure it is as much appreciated buy everyone as it is by me.

We can only keep this site alive by making small contributions both financially together with posts from its readers, you don't have to be a story teller to make a post. Try and help out George, 12 posts in 17 years, you must have more to tell us than that, we don't care what it is, every little helps to keep the interest alive. Some of us are getting too near Davy Jones Locker to keep it going.

#1 I must agree with Ivan on this one George. With a name like George Gunn e.g. I bet your nickname was Ben in line with Robert Louis Stevenson’s Treasure Island.
There was a post on nicknames ages ago and a lot of people showed interest in same. This site for various reasons has made a lot happier and given some
reconnection over the years , it is the last of the British MN as was and copies of this site should be kept in a nautical museum for future generations . The site owner
should be congratulated for having the wit and energy on making this possible.., Thanks for your post ,keep em coming. . Cheers JS
