Re: Sea temperature
#47 James you hit the nail on the head, with the beer after the watch, as you said distilled water is just that water with no minerials in it so I suppose the copious amounts on Tenants Thistle, Hennican, Castle, Tiger, Swan and all the other brands, we consumed, had enough minerals in them to keep us healthy must admit I have had my share of minerials from that source.

Re: Sea temperature
THE DISCONNECT
We, people, societies around the World, were told in 2018 that to avoid the worst impacts of climate change we had to reduce our use of fossil fuels by almost half by 2030. That statement was made by the leading international climate organisation and representatives of all the Worlds governments signed up to it, and it was on The News.
So. We knew 5 years ago that we had 12 years to almost half our use of fossil fuels.
Here we are in 2023 with less than 7 years to go and we’re still using more fossil fuels every year, not less.
Global investment in the fossil fuel industry is going up, not down.
Except in 2020, emissions have gone up every year, not down.
And emissions are set to rise 16% in the next 7 years – not fall by nearly half.
So clearly, we are heading for the worst impacts of climate change.
The UN secretary general said we’re “on a highway to climate hell with our foot still on the accelerator”.
That was on The News too.
So. We know we are heading for climate hell.
We can see on The News that some of the worst impacts have already started.
We can see that climate impacts are already killing people.
We know we are going to suffer terrible consequences.
And yet we are still buying and burning fossil fuels.
We are still choosing and tolerating politicians who consistently fail to enact the policies we need.
We still don’t have the help we need to insulate our homes and get rid of our fossil fuel boilers.
We still don’t have decent well-funded public transport etc. etc.
We still use banks and credit companies that fund the fossil fuel industry.
We still fly in jets.
We still use fossil fuels for fun.
Our behaviour, as a society, has not really changed.
That’s THE DISCONNECT

The same thing is equitable with the Geneva Convention , how many who consider themselfs the leaders of the civilised world signed up for the rules of warfare , and immediately it came their way , threw all the agreements away when it didn’t suit. JS .

Adam.
As I said in a previous post, a few years ago they panicked and switched all the lights off in major cities, all forgotten now that the politicians have solved it all, quiet simply close your eyes.
Quantas are going to order another 130 new planes, that will clear things up a bit.

#58 Des like it or not , if one could could find a person completely oblivious to the ways of the world and put it to them the two alternatives communism in its basic and fundamental true sense of achieving equality throughout and the present day of capitalism , I feel certain the normal person would choose communism. However ideologies have got that twisted and bent over the decades the real truth is never shown or admitted to. When China reverted to communism like Russia it was to the great mass of peoples advantage ,as regards China it was a damn sight better than living under a warlord system of government and China was seen to enter the world more at ease with other governments to the benefits of their own people, so with all their 5 year plans etc. did prove beneficial in the long run. Seems to me the world always has to have someone else to blame , apart from themselves . JS

Re: Sea temperature
Climate change or is it just a ploy by some to develop what they want and to make money, a lot of money.
Most western countries who have attempted renewable energy now realize that it will not do the job.
There is a need for back up supplies, either oil, coal or gas.
Coal is the favorite as we here in Oz know from export amounts we sell to China and others.
Govs may well talk the talk but will never do the walk, leave that to others maybe.
But take a good look at some of the so called effects of Climate change, nothing new there and all part of weather patterns.
Here in Oz we are told to be ready for bush fires this year as there will be a El Nino effect, nothing new there.
Our Feral gov say Oz will become a renewable super power, in their dreams.
So far we get just 17% of our power that way and about 45% of that comes from household solar panels.
The only solar and wind being built are by foreign investors who will make money at the expense of the residents.
If they invest billions they will want more billions back.
