    Default Seasonal madness

Today a most unusual thing happened here in Victoria Australia. Last Saturday we had an election for a new state government, Labor was kicked out and a new conservative government elected. This morning the new state premier made a statement that will send shivers up and down the spines of the political correct brigade.
His statement was thus,' It is now the happiest season of the year and I say that all should enjoy it and embrace Christmas. Nativity plays should be allowed at school along with the singing of carols there, in town halls, shopping centres and street corners if the people wish to. we must not allow anyhting or anyone to stand in the way of this time of year.' The Islamic council has endorsed his comments. However a spokesman for the politicaly correct brigade has condemed the comments saying that it offends the minority groups. As is the case in most countries now the minority groups call the tune, I wonder which tune they would like now, maybe 'Silent Night'???????

    Hi.John
I was quite surprised when you said that you had those political awareness prats in Oz. I think that there must have been too many pom migrants since I was there last ( excluding yourself of course) I think that these people cause the racial tension in the first place, by trying to think for other people instead of pulling their heads in. I know quite a few ******s and Hindus and Jews who all join in the spirit of Christmas even though they do not need to get involved in the religious side of it. In fact thinking about it not that many Christians respect the religious aspect either.
    Cheers
    Pete

One thing I do notice about these minority groups is that they all have great long snouts and grubby paws which they seem able to get into the trough of public money.
They are nearly as good at the trough as politicians.
I think Labour takes a bit of beating in this department wherever they are, mind you the Tories and LibDems will not be far behind.

Yes mate, some are home grown but there are a large number of imigrants who bring some of their wier ideas with them. Lot of our trade union shop stewards and leaders are from England and Scotland. Slowly though people are waking up to the fact that they cannot be told what to do. The Labor party over here has the notion that 'we know what is best for you, where as the Liberals (conservatives) take the attitude that you should live your life the way yo want to.

Well said John.....For once, mate, we seem to be in total agreement. Increasingly, or so it would seem, the performance level of most politicians here in Oz goes from bad to worse, or is it just that the self-serving ba-----ds have always been that way and we poor 'Plebs' just haven't noticed. I do get the impression that it's the same the whole world over. The new Premier of Victoria certainly sounds like a breath of fresh air, but I suppose we can only wait and see. If he is the geniune article, more power to him.....cheers, Roger.

Hey Den. Maybe we can clone him and have one move to the U.K. as well. Believe me, I sometimes wonder what our status is in this new Britain. By the way are you making any special tabnabs for the crew this Christmas. Mike
