I rest my case then JS (case no pun intended) and John C. Going back to Liar, the only reason he is against Brexit is he can see his nice cushy well paid job in Brussels going down the toilet hole. Pity we cant flush him down as well.
    Regards
    John C

I started this thread to see if we could have a sensible dialogue on the issues raised by Tony Blair over Brexit earlier this week. Well looks as if it has run it's course.
Thanks to all those who contributed in their replies. Obviously we disagree on a lot of points. Shame that a couple felt the need to get personal.

Well paid job, do you honestly think he needs the money, get real. au revoir

    Hi Lewis.
Democracy! Lewis; Democracy! as little as we had or have. Did Churchill intend to put his great plan of a European State to the vote, probably not, {It's the first I've heard of it] anyway he was as we know not a man of his word ask the South Africans, this great man along with many others had shares in Krupts during the war the money paid into a Swiss bank. Ted Heath signed Britain up to the EU in secret; maybe he had been reading Churchill's great plan for Britain, maybe there was a clause in it to remind him not to give the working British people the vote, after all they were the ones to have suffered most from German aggression so I doubt he would have got it through, even with all the German lovers in the upper classes.
    Cheers Des

Ah! well if you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen, as you can see most do not take Tony Blair seriously, but some gave you valid serious reasons for doing so, it would appear that if things do not go your way you give in. This site has its fair share of frivolity because that's what old folks do, we've had our serious times and dangerous times we are allowed to be sceptical, but if you think its all frivolous then you are mistaken, members have a wealth of knowledge and have helped hundreds of people in their quest for information and closure of certain aspects of their lives. If you took the time to read many of the thousands of posts on site instead of feeling aggrieved at perceived insults to your own person then you may just see that.

#96 yes John, he was at sea and all credit suffered some trauma, however I'm not sure I'd want to share a messroom as his sense of humour seems somewhat lacking, but he may be a very nice person when you meet him, but certainly does himself no favours in the written word

Going to sea is supposed to toughen you up and enable you to take some flak, apparently doesn't work in all cases.

I was going to add something to that Ivan but on reading it again, you have said it all. Good one. Bingo!
