methinks if the vote is as tight as it looks give them the scotland they want .....this country is the greatest country in the world bar none ......the mother of freedom ......if they dont want to be with us it suits me fine ......i dont want anybody knocking my country ....we have taken on the world in wars.....finance and the fight for freedom ......yes with the help of the welsh scots and irish .....but my country gives me no fears about going alone......if any chance was given to me to vote on whether they should go or not i would vote yes .....my country is no better or worse in my opinion with or without the others .....we will still be freinds but wont be the chopping block for all theother threes woes.....regards cappy

The bits of me that are Scottish will not be chopping off unless they are gangreous, could you believe the guff that is put out by the SNP. See by the media here in Oz the boy wonder was pleading with them to vote No. Shows how competent he is, cant even hold a referendum on the EU, but can on the Countrty of his birth. JS

Braid,I never could spell whisky correctly, must ave bin me pa drinking all that oirish whiskey when he had the inclination, and boy did he have an inclination after drinking the whiskey. Cappy you will find that Scotland 'if' it does gain independence and things start to go wrong with the management of their own affairs, they, like all the other countries in the world who have gained independence from the mother country, will blame their ills on the English, because they will say that it is the system that they inherited from the English, but didn't have the whit to change it because then they would have nobody to blame for their mismanagement. I also have no fear of this country going it alone should the need arise, and should the Scots come to their senses and elect to stay within the Union at least they will have another goal to achieve over the next fifty years...................independence, alas I fear that the world will have changed so much that Shariah Law will be the biggest item on the agenda rather than the independence of any sovereign state unless ALL our collective governments take their finger out.

#101....Not that I know of John. They were civil engineering contractors, head office in Dundee. At the time I worked for them they still had their own bitumen railway tankers, and a siding near the main yard in Forres. I have a 4mm to the foot model of one.

Rest assured Ivan the USA does not put any blame on the English....Well maybe a little for the excessive rain we have had this year.

    Cheers, Rodney

    To speak of thee
    You fought and died for

To let this cretin ruin it for you all

Alas Rodney we (the English) are always cast as the villains in American movies, whilst the Irish, Scots, Welsh and Americans of course are always the heroes, but we've got used to it. One day we'll all be speaking American, but in all honesty can say whilst watching both fictional and American reality shows that those appearing on such shows their diction and pronunciation is far superior to their UK counterparts, this includes English/Welsh/Scottish/Irish participants, which to me is a sad state of affairs when our own language is abused by our own peoples
