i hardly watch tv now, documentaries yes, some travel programs, history or geographical, thats it, news i see on my pc, all we get is cooking, auctions of antiques, people being invited to others houses, then finding faults, people on a coach trip rating other passengers and throwing them off, so called reality tv ,big brother, get me out of here i am a celebrity, just out of work actors, makes me want to puke, reality tv is as real as an extinct dodo walking down the high street, in uk we have to pay to watch this crap, need a tv licence, apparently need one if u watch the news on a pc, they can get stu..ed, i think a tv licence is about £150 per year, no chance,

    Tony,
There is such a thing as a "Virtual I.P.address" that you can purchase from online providers, here in the U.S. you can get one for as little as $55/yr. This allows you access to just about any tv station you choose in many countries. But the real upside is that by using a virtual IP address, your movement on the internet is discreet and nothing traces your movement back to your computer. There is no more history of where you've been on the net. Both my sons live in Victoria BC and use this service to access live football matches on SkySports and BBC sports and do not subscribe to any cable or satellite services. This is all perfectly legal. Of course, the downside as some may think is that you only see the programmes on your PC. Just an FYI mate.

thanks for that information, u live and learn, ! am leaving UK very soon, not going back, had enough of the rat race, what annoys me is all the channels are free that do advertising, BBC is not free and thats where our licence fees are paid to, they wont make a tv that excludes there channels, so u are stuffed, and some of the salaries they pay there so called celebrities are obscene, one judge on a dancing weekly show admitted he was overpaid, £90,000 a week just to be a judge, almost as much as the prime minister, another idiot who runs a chat show, cant even speak properly allways rude to people gets millions,

We get the same crap here in Oz and since we purchased a set top box that has a large hard drive we have not looked back. We record the programs that we want to watch so our nightly viewing consists of watching the news then reverting to recorded programs where we are in control so no more adds for us. That is unless they happen to slip up and put a decent show on for when we want to watch it live. As for the rest of that crap. Well how many fecking ways are there to boil an egg. Do you like us here find you are reading the paper about something happening only to find it is about one of those shows. Really gets my goat that does I mean to say can someone tell them that it is not real life events. Same as the new televisions and how they sell them with all those features when you are still going to get the same sh8t that you get on an old TV. I refuse to buy one until my old TV goes bung that is for sure. Will stick with the analogue TV and a decent STB.

Then there are the so called currrent affairs progs. Maybe current affair is right as most of the crap is about such matters. Hardly inspirational stuff but I consider it to aimed at the brain dead who will watch such stuff. One day maybe they will advertise something of interest on it, until then I refuse to watch.

RLT I think it is about time you changed the brand of gold watch you have as it does not seem to be doing the trick mate. You are recalling programs that us older than you are having trouble remembering.
