good morning, Argh you spoilt it marian i had left that one for ted, as i know he is a red hot liverpool supporter, but as always you are spot on, the billy wright i knew played for everton and the last time i spoke to him, he was pushing a wheel barrow full of building rubble and emptying it into a skip in stanley road bootle, he worked for a friend of mine whom was also a ex everton football player, but he could peel oranges in his pocket with one hand,i also think he drank grey goose. and i and others always found it offensive and had recourse to tell him that, to have him use his old team mate in that manner was not right,his answer was that he had asked him for the job. this particular subject will always remain contensious in my household, because both my sons went on to be evertonians because of the time they spent with their grandfather and their uncles as they are all true blues, and also protestants,but i never held that against them, But everton when i was a kid was the main team in liverpool also noted as the catholic team which i then supported,the reds where secondary, as for singing like the beverly sisters or being a football presenter on tv no he was none of them but was capped for england six times and played over 370 times for the blues, which my eldest son could and would remind me,

#53 Were do you get your stories from?? Billy Wright never played for Liverpool. He was Wolverhampton through and through over 490 games during a career that lasted from 1939 to 1959. He won 105 England caps. He managed Arsenal from 1962 to 1966. He was married to Joy Beverley of the Beverley sisters. After football management he became a football pundit and went on to become Head of Sport at ATV & Central television, he retired in 1989 only to become a director on the board of Wolverhampton FC. How would I know so much about Billy Wright. We share the same birthday 6th February.
