Re: England v Denmark
Football was originally a contact sport, where the opposing teams could and did kick lumps out of each other.
There are many stories, where the centre half has upended the opposition forward in the early minutes of the game, only for retribution to be delivered later.
Over the years the game as been feminised, contact has been almost but not quite abolished.
A few years ago Sky Sports TV Channel show a match from the seventies with a modern day ref., at the end of the showing, he was asked for his views.
He replied, "under current day football rules, there would have been no one left on the park".
Says it all really.

Re: England v Denmark
Just read this, really!
England players refuse to wear silver medals after Euro 2020 defeat to Italy.
Gareth Southgate's England team were understandably devastated after the defeat, and some of them immediately removed their silver medals after being presented with them.

Re: England v Denmark
An absolutely Awful Game !... 2 minutes of euphoria for England ,thanks to my namesake Shaw, then another 2 hours of catchup, resulting in loss by penalties(as ever.)
When England came out for the second half it was as if they had forgotten to turn the England light switch back on. What happened to Kane? What happened to Sterling?...Italy were by far the strongest ,mature and more experienced team, and so deserve their victory.
Penalties? I suggest all the English club league players pool together their £300,000 per week salaries and build a Penalty Shoot-Out Coaching Academy, where once per week all teams spend the whole day practising penalty shootouts until they are 100% competent;because it will happen again and again.
Just my 'umble opinion.

Re: England v Denmark
Not to make a huge thing here, but why is it that loosing a Game (And thats what it is a Game) must there always be those that spoil it for everyone , with the disgraceful Behaviour of some of the English Fans fighting,Kicking etc the Italian Fans ! Why!!!!!!
What is sport coming to! Come on Play the game and dont spread the shame !
Puts a real damper on it!
