Not being picky or pedantic John, but strangely Trump is a teetotaler, he's never even tasted a beer or hard liquor. he has never smoked cigarettes, drank alcohol or done drugs. His older brother, Fred, was an alcoholic for many years and warned Trump to avoid drinking. Fred ultimately died from his addiction. He sure made up for it with women though.

#12... never knew that Rodney the same as probably the general public. People automatically take a dislike to certain people, maybe mannerisms or their looks or in most cases bad publicity. I see being a neutral observer think things about his personal attitude are different I Could certainly live with, knowing very well no one is perfect as your average politician is quick to display that only he is. The attitude of his predessor was to try and please everyone and tried to show a pleasant demeanour to all and sundry. What his accomplishments were only the American people will know. The future PM we have waiting hopefully in the Wings I only hope he doesn’t get in, the names he called Trump before he was even inaugurated shows I’ll for the future ,I don’t think Trump is a foolish man by any means, but is quite possible in his character. To have a long memory and remember faces. Cheers JWS. as an example of people carrying grudges I sailed with a master whilst on foc ships whose background had been the baron boats man and boy. whilst master on the kiwi coast he told me story of one particular sea lawyer who caused a lot of grief on the ship. many years after the occasion he flew into new York and whose on the plane but his previous trouble maker who was all bon homie, and was flying out to get married to an American girl. this master made sure he was ahead of him in the immigration queue, and said to the immigration '"I see your letting card carrying communists into the country now" , when the ex trouble maker reached his turn he was questioned refused entry and returned to the uk minus his would be bride. that is what I call carrying a grudge to extremes. whether a man like Trump has the same attitude to life don't know but wouldn't mind betting Shorten wishes he had kept his big gob shut now. the electorate should be well aware of the mans shortcomings at the next Australian general election. if they don't they deserve what they get cheers js

I find British politics hard enough to follow and certainly hard enough to find one bunch of them to agree with without resorting to trying to work out American or Australian political systems what puts me off Donald Trump is every time I have heard him make a speech or a statement or repeat his Twitter feed is his voice I find very whining and each time I hear that noise it is reminiscent of a dripping tap he could be the best president in the world but that voice I just can't listen to it

Rob what I fail to understand why all the kerpuffle blaming the Russians for the loss of the election to Trump. The Russians at most were doing exactly the same as the western democracys who didn't like Trump in disclaiming him for what they believed was a bad choice. The West like Germany France and nitwits in the UK and the likes of Shorten in Australia were sticking their oar in no different than the Russians but with a different option on American leaders. Was to an unbiased judge a case of sour grapes. Politics being what it is , the best person won according to the majority. The same thing applies to Brexit, woe betide those who go against the majoritys wishes. Cheers JWS

Rob I had this sent to me the other day so is as received. Let me say to others this is not a political statement as the names can be reversed to compliment who you want. but is how the average Australian sees it. may help you to understand our parliamentary .
    system, modelled on Westminster.
    History of Australia.
For those that don't know about Australian history, here is a condensed version.
Australians originally existed as members of small bands of nomadic hunters and gatherers.
they lived on kangaroos on the plains during the summer and would then go to the coast and live on fish and mussels in the winter.
the two most important events in all aussie history were the invention of beer and the invention of the wheel.
the wheel was invented to get man to the beer.
these were the formation of modern aussie civilisation and together were the catalyst for the splitting of Australians into two distinct sub groups.
    1 liberal
    2 labor.
once beer was discovered, it required grain and that was the beginning of agriculture.
neither glass bottle nor aluminium can were invented so while our early aussies were sitting around waiting for them to be invented, they stayed close to the brewery.
    that's how villages were formed.
some men spent their days tracking and killing animals to bbq at night, while they were drinking their beer.
this was the beginning of what is known as the liberal party.
other men who were weaker and less skilled at hunting, learned to live off the liberals by showing up for the nightly bbq s and doing the sewing, fetching and hair dressing.
this was the beginning of the labor movement
some of those labor men eventually evolved into women'
    they became known as gays.
some noteworthy labor achievements include the domestication of cats , the invention of group therapy, group hugs, and voting how to divide the meat and the beer and they like their beef well done.
sushi, tofu and French food are standard labor fare
another interesting, evolutionary side note; most of their women have higher testosterone levels than their men.
most social workers, government workers ..state and federal, personal injury lawyers, journalists ( especially at the Age), ABC staff, and group therapists are laborites.
Liberals drink domestic beer mostly Carlton or XXXX.
They eat red meat ( rare) and still provide for their women.
Liberals are police officers, engineers, corporate executives , athletes, airline pilots. business owners, farmers, doctors and nurses and generally anyone who works productively.
liberals who own companys, hire other liberals who want to work for a living.
    laborites produce little or nothing.
they like to govern the producers and decide what what to do with the production.
that is why most of the laborites created the business of trying to get more for nothing ..and usually plead for more government money to fund their unproductive , parasitical activities.
here ends todays lesson on Australian history.
A liberal will simply laugh and be so convinced of the absolute truth of history that it will be forwarded immediately to other true believers and to more laborites .. just to piss them off.
    and there you have it.

the above was sent to me and others by a fourth generation aussie rob so hope it may clarify.
for those who will, scream politics and have different views just twist the titles round. it is not intended as a party political broadcast and neither is it. just the way some aussies view their own country. if taken any other way then the reader has problems. cheers jws

#17... in this weeks international express there is an article by Tony Blair still harping on about staying in Europe and changing certain parts of the agreement which he was one of the articles who made such a lousy job of it. I am surprised he Even gets mentioned on politics. Suppose he is that entrenched will have to get an excavator to get him out. What a blemish on history of the uk he is. Must have no conscience and the hide of a rhineroceous . He is no longer a politician so no rules are being broken. JWS..
