Three dealers here just got,one guy for murder min 27 years, two of his mates 22 years min manslaughter. The torture and final strangulation of this guy was unbelievable. This guy had arranged for the dealers a £130.000 delivery of cannabis from Spain it didn't arrive so the torture and murder was the punishment meted out by the dealers, they thought he had it or had the money, the truth was it was intercepted by customs. There will somebody in the wings ready to take their place.

They shoot and kill drug dealers and addicts,
    about 4,000 killed so far.

    Its a start.

Well for a closed thread we are getting good feed back, as expected varying views. Sadly drugs are here to stay. I do not think there is a solution around the corner anytime soon.
I remember a lot of years ago I went to collect my son from an after school rugby match. I was watching the game from my car and the person in the car in front of me seemed to be very popular. I suddenly twigged what was going on, barstards were dealing drugs. I called the police and told them I thought the car in front of me was dealing drugs. Gave them the car reg and they asked to stay there as they were sending an unmarked car and if in 5 minutes I could move off to leave the space vacant. I did and within 10 minutes all hell broke loose.
I was telling my lad about what went down, and he said it was well known that dealers targeted schools. I got a visit from the old bill thanking me for giving them a call. They said as soon as they heard me readout the car reg number they knew exactly who these clowns were.
I still think though that making them legal and taxing drugs is the way to go. These idiots who use drugs might as well be taxed and put something back into the economy.

Where did it all start to go wrong? Many look back on the swinging 60's with fondness but was it so great¿ Yes there was some fabulous music producer, women found sexual freedom with the introduction of the birth control pill but the downside was that along with all that came the introduction of the USA west coast ideals. Those growing up in the sixties were probably the first generation not to experience the strictures of the post war years and have money in their pockets. New universities we're opening allowing more people to obtain a university education yet many of these new seats of learning were not beds of rampant socialism with. Both lecturer's and students railing against what they saw as the old established order restricting there supposed need for change. One of my cousin's went to one of these new university and got swept up in it all, ending up as a shambling wreck addicted to marijuana and dropping out. Fortunately he later managed to pull himself together and ended up with a top job in the music industry. My rugby playing school friend went onto a catering college in the north west and when I saw him one my first leave after a eleven month first trip, he had turned from a fit second row rugby player into a shambling wreck, high on drugs. Again when doing 2nd. Matures, there was one great lad who was on our footy team who overdosed on drink and drugs one night, choked on his own vomit and died.
These were all guys who grew up in the sixties like I did and I know I thoroughly enjoyed them but possibly some of us look back on that era through rose tinted glasses as although sex and drugs and rock and roll may make a great song title it is not a lifestyle to pass onto our children is it?

As soon as you ban something you have to put into measure a means of policing it, the booze ban in the states of yonks ago, massive attempt and manpower to stop it, and then finally it did not work. I think legalise it, but get into the schools early, and shock treatment, show them what happens, never mind keeping it from young kids, we need to act at primary school. If grown adults what to blast their brains out, they will do it anyway, legal or illegal, kt

Alcoholics, Dont have to detox cold turkey as suggested they can either be taken in by a hospital clinic or detoxed at home under supervision of there G.P. Problem is a lot of there funding has been slashed. Like everything else in life some people are addicted to Coronation Street my missus for one 99% Will power and you have to want to do it all about personal choice. Terry.

As i say its 99% Will power if you want to achieve any goal in life, Anything is possible. The help was certainly there in the 80s i had a good shipmate who passed away while on a detox back then in hospital.

    Alcohol support
Realising you have a problem with alcohol is the first step to getting better, but it's often the hardest one.
