Re: Fires Raging NSW
Well at present Wed the 23rd Octoberall is not too bad here at Blackheath, with Strong Winds ,but at this time no Fire Threat close by us!
The winds are favouring us too as they are blowing any threat away from us at present, but there could well be a cahnge in direction later, which then could cause danger here!
But for now thank the Lord,we are in no immediate danger!
Hold all Fingers that it will remail like this!
More high winds still forecast for Tomorrow as well.
Love to all my Family and Friends!

Re: Fires Raging NSW
Good on you Vernon, we are watching the smoke from the west side of you and at the moment there is a westerly wind which is safer for us at Katoomba. As you are north west of us it is the change of wind from that direction we are keeping our eye on. If we are not in the "firing line" later and you and Irene have a problem, come here.
Keep well,
Richard

Re: Fires Raging NSW
Official news today. The original fire was started by munitions used in an Army training exercise in the Blue Mountians. Add to that another fire started by two young lads of 10 and 12, and it is expected that two other fires were the result of arsonists.
Sad to have to tell you this but according to official figure we get on average 6,000 bush fires of varying size each yere here in Oz with up to 40% of them the result of deliberate or uncaring arson.

Happy daze John in Oz.

Re: Fires Raging NSW
From a rellie in Oz: how about 1 year we don't spend millions on the New Years fireworks and put that money into our fire fighting resources.

Re #77
Did you see Australian Broadcasting "7.30" programme last night, Annabelle Crabbe. With the attention hungry US has been "greenie" Wally Gore who flies around the world in a pollution spewing private jet brainwashing those who are unable to think for themselves. Apparently Leigh Sales is on two week's holiday. Oh please come back Leigh, we're itching to have Crabbe's removal.
