Vernon and bush fires
Hi Vernon.
Hope everything is alright up your way with this new bush fire raging. For others on site, suspicion is that someone lit a series of fires in the worst part of Katoomba in the Blue Mountains, right at the base of steep cliffs, two houses have already gone up, though thankfully the high wind has dropped enabling the firefighters to come to grips with it. A little way from Vernon but not that far when these fires take hold.
Cold weather down here is now heading to Sydney so with luck these fires can be contained.
Cheers Des

Re: Vernon and bush fires
Hello Des
Yes indeed suspicious Fire that one and pretty bad too! My Neighbour has been there as a Volunteer RFS for 16 hrs now,he must be just about to collapse the poor Lad!
These Guys sure have guts and I take my hat off to them all ! Thank you RFS !
As you say Des its a small distance from us here, but 10km when these get out of hand is nothing!
Tahnkfully though the worst we hope is over, and they have got it under control, well for now anyway, hope the Winds don't turn nasty again like Yesterday and last Night!
We are getting the cooler change Today Des,thank goodness,so can again breath!
Thanks for the post

Re: Vernon and bush fires
Hi John
Thanks for your thoughts and the Email.
I fear that we are just at the start of worse to come Joun, not a nice thing I know but the reality of it is there,as they are predicting a very dry and Hot Summer once again!
As it is only really the start of Spring and already we have these type of Temperatures
I fear that we could be in for one heck of a Summer !
Lets hope that I am wrong, but the Motto out here is "Always be Prepared for the worst"
You take Care too mate!
Cheers
