Re: Fires Raging NSW
Yes saw that Richard, where do they get them from? I have heard that to get a job with ABC you must prove you are an ALP supporter.
But what annoys me is the spin from these guys about the climate, they honestly think we are not able to think for ourselves. I was so annoyed by pof Pitman and his most stupid commenst along with those of the other two.
Gov scientist James Lovelock retrired from CSRIO three years ago, he wrote an article for the paper. In it he described how they did on occasions use false figures and extreme settiungs to get a result thta suited the gov. Had they not done so funding would have dried up.
An economist in Uk stated a couple of years ago that all this is more to do with an attmpt to slow the growth of China and India than it is to do with the climate.

Happy daze John in Oz.

Vernon MacDonald
Conditions now set to get worse Tomorrow Wed with high Winds at up to 80klph dry and hot, with low humidity, this could potentially send all three large Fires into one, making a Mega Fire and could stretch for some 300km .
We all have been warned to stay vigilant Tomorrow, and if things do worsen,to get out early!
Funnily enough they are expecting Thunderstorms as well later Today, but with not much rain, and only potential Lightening Strikes, which again makes this situation very very dangerous!
That it for now, will if possible keep you all updated on Computer, but may not be here at home !??
All the best
and our love to all our Family and Friends!
These Pics taken today the Eerie look of the oncoming threat hovering over our place!

Re: Fires Raging NSW
Vernon there was a guy on BBC Radio 5 Live this morning on the phone from Blackheath.I think he was an ex pat,he was saying he couldn't see any fire from where he was but plenty of smoke. He was saying there was was a little light rain at the time but not enough to do any good.He describes his house as brick built with a concrete tile roof whilst the house next door to him was timber built, maybe your neighbour.
Regards.

Re: Fires Raging NSW
I see on all news services that they are back burning from just above your place Vernon. Good luck with that. As for all the so called experts as soon as your disaster is over they will go back to pulling there puds until Victoria or some other state goes up in flames as will happen in due course.
One of my sons in law is a volunteer fire fighter here in Vic and he states that as soon as a blaze is extinguished and the threat over the powers that be do exactly as I stated above. Mother nature is a cruel mistress.

Re: Fires Raging NSW
Yes Neil
Would agree with those comments!
We are hoping that the back burn will assist which it should, but if those predicted winds come in at 80kmh then it wouldnt have helped too much,as you are aware only ground cover is back burnt, the Winds would send Fireballs higher up and the actual Canopy of the trees would then ignite!
Lets hope that we can save out Houses here!
Now a waiting game till about 9am Tomorrow!
Cheers and thanks
