John I have come to realise that on election day the only choice we have is what type of condom the incoming party will wear either lubricated or nobbly but the same result will ensue.
That's the way the mop flops.

My thanks to Brian for this site.

yes,I,m still getting oap and heating allowance and I usually spend 2 to 3 long weekends a year in the uk to see my kids and grandkids.Even living in spain I couldnt live on the oap so I have a private pension that I invested in for many years.I could have had an even better lifestyle if that bastxxrd brown hadnt decided to milk the profits out of pension funds.
Let me tell you why I love it out here.
We get our bins emptied every day
We dont get fined for putting rubbish in the wrong bin(most people use the right bin)
our street is swept every day and washed down at least monthly in the summer
if we need work done on the house we dont need to go to a brit cowboy builder(of which there are many over here)
If I need to see a doctor I telepone for and appointment and the doctors never run late.
I have a fair amount of medication free on the spanish national health and my prescriptions are loaded onto a computer and the pharmacist puts my card into his computer and gives me what i,m due.the card is reloaded every 6 months on a visit to the doctor.
theres lots more reasons but I,m fed up with writing this

ps my neighbours are all spanish and its a pleasure to live among them

Your right Jim there,s no place like home , but what I,m hearing here from all of you back home ,(yes I still call it back home even after 47 years over here ) also over here you had better be healthy and work your asses off to get ahead ,as its capitialism at its worst . my old lady and I were lucky too make in new york . and then move too florida . I could not go back as I,m always looking ahead to the next hill ,never content . any way the old liverpool of my day is long gone . a lot of the buildings are the same . last time I was home I kept looking around for people from my past .I,m running out of time to be searching for utophia . so I guess florida is my last stop. all 3 of our kids are yanks ,and 8 grandkids too . this is our 4th house in fla been lucky enough to make some $$$ on each sale especialy the one in NY. gorra go now, beer time der lah. Britain can still be a good country even with our million problems.
The NHS is still good compared with overseas.
In the last two weeks I have had an ECG, and pain killing injection from a Paramedic who arrived at my home first in a car, whilst waiting for the Ambulance, Gas and Air from an Ambulance on the way to the hospital, A morphine drip, a Paracetamol drip, a Pain killing injection. an Anti clotting injection, Four X-Rays, a CT Scan, an Ultra Sound Scan , a MRI Scan, an Endoscopy into the stomach, and on a drip of Fluid and a drip of Antibiotics for four days. Two Blood Tests and a Urine test.and two boxes of tablets . Four days in the hospital.
Now I dont know how much that would cost in the USA or anywhere else, but it must cost a few bob, and all No Charge.
Thank you NHS, There is more to come yet........
    Cheers
    Brian.

You couldnt be more correct. Millionairs in this country were given a £45,000 cut in income tax recently. To quote David Cameron this will inject more investment into the economy and create much needed jobs for our youth. You have more chance of getting a gobble of a ghost than getting these capatalist BAS***DS to part with anything in this country. Good health Nev Terry.

Kong you forgot to mention about being given scipture lessons from the rag head in the next bed who tried to teach you about the Koran LOL. Got to love multiculterism it gives one insight as to how others live and thankfully not have to participate unless as a captive audience like yourself PMSL. Not to mention being able to perve on the slit in the face mask of the woman in the opposite bed. Did you end up seeing eye to eye.

One thing about the States is that after an operation you are out of the hospital fast, good job too as the costs are very high I had a hip replacement and out in 3 days $35,000 and that was 15 years ago so likely tripled by now ,had the same cost for a radical prosectomy, same 3 days 14 years ago .USA is agreat place if you have $$$$ and a good job .I just read that the middle class here earns between $20,000 and $ 70,000 .good luck trying too make it on $20,000, even $70,000 your not doing great ,if you have a family too support .we tend too look back and remember the good times ,and forget the bad . thats why old folks talk about the good old days EEEEK thats us now .
