#34 . I can almost say then Graham “ I was in Baghdad when you were in Dadsbag. “, no bad manners intended. The Gaga, doo doo dumdum burp, nearly caught on as an International language called Esperanto, think the French withdrew their support as couldn’t burp. Unlike you I did have an annoying speech impediment when younger whether it was due to suppressed. Trauma about having to wear a plaster of Paris boot on my left foot , or was just born with a short tongue who knows , today would have seen a speech therapist. , but had to go to sea and get it knocked out of me by a bully mate. Unfortuanetley I didn’t think too much of Ted the boyo , (Heath) especially as my Aunt was a fan of his , and she was a bit touched . As regards Big Ben believe the trouble is the U2 batteries they make these days are not up to standard. You must have just passed the Cinderella hour by now so all the best for the next 364 days 23 hours And 56 minutes . Just think when there is only 23 hours 56 minutes and 27 seconds left , you’ll be able to say Ah well! Just a sidereal day to go, and no one will know what your talking about. All the best anyhow your Majesty George the V11 now being your title. If you want someone to stutter for you give me a shout and I’ll do my best . Cheers JS

Re: Bad news tonight
May 1952, the Queen was not long on the throne, Churchill was still around.
One girl at the junior school I attended, not the term nothing to do with being educated, thought that when George 6 went maybe Churchill would take over.
Graham was doing his impersenation of a gold fish, Des was at sea, and I had an eye on a girl who at nine years of age was either deformed or just busting out all over very early.
Rationing was still in place on some goods and TV was in it's infancy, just like Graham.
Dick Barton was still a special agent and there was much binding in the marsh.
Now you say there is bad news tonight, so what else is new??

?
John,How very indiscreet of you to comment on how long Her Maj spent au toilette in her throne room back in '52 ,especially,as you say with Sir Winnie hanging around outside.Winston is in enough imminent trouble at the moment with the 'statue topplers' wanting to drag him down to the Thames ,and I don't think it is to wash off the pigeon sh*t .....
Good lad,I like our Winnie.

well john idid actually sail with a one legged guy who had his own sailing yacht out of scarboro and whitby .....name of swallow .....he esconced himself in the stern and a bloody shoehorn would not have got him out while racing ....he invarably put me into the water when taking us round the half way buoy....and remember one time he put the boat hard over before i had dropped the ....big boy as he liked to call it ...it was very cold and very dark and she just layed flat on her side ....sadly for me i was under the sail and under the water ....getting short of breath as sea water filled my gob each time i opened it i saw a very slight gleam of light on the mast and started to work my way towards it .....after what seemed a lifetime she started to right herself ...and i discovered while clambering to to the light i had managed to get about 10 foot up the mast ....as she finally stood on an even keel... smart ass shouted what the feck are you doing up there to which my reply was based some swear words i didnt even know that i new.....any way it is hard work doing a bit of yacht racing ....just two of us ...he wouldnt let me helm stating it was his boat and i was crew .....lol ...but after a couple of seasons of coming back black and blue ....i jacked it in...he and his wife had both lost the right leg in an accident on a motor bike in paris ...but it never held iether of them back ...both gone beyond the sun now ......regards cappy

Re: Bad news tonight
It’s 0700 here and after a week or so off air ,once again put on the iPad expecting nothing , and Shazam am back on air , being a doubting character am making the most of it. Just shows what some youngsters of today can do with a total different knowledge of electronics . Hope he phones up and tells me what the problem was, thanks Vernon for complying with whatever info. You were able to supply to him as assume that was why I am on air at the moment. So age does matter the fixer was at least 60 years younger than me but definetley much more capable . A good start to the New Year ? ? JS.
