I loved going to Israel when I was at sea. I was on the Haifa run for oranges to Europe andlater Ashdod with vegetables to France . Maybe my favourite country in the world and I have been back twice overland on motorcycles

But thanks to Netanyahu they have made a terrible mistake. Hamas are in my view evil but the ISraeli treatment of the Palestinians in contradiction of UN judgements which they totally disregard was always going to provoke massive retaliation. No justification for the Oct 7 behaviour but if you keep on and on battering people then something bad will happen. It is the rule of the blindingly obviious.

I put Netanyahu on the same plane as Hamas, his whole life has been leading up to this, so he can crush not Hamas as he says, but the Palestinians ever getting the Two State system up. I believe he knew what was going to happen and did nothing, Israeli intelligence is one of the best.

Correct des, Israel and USA have the best surveillance systems there are, to say he did not know the rockets were coming is pure bull**** and many think along the same lines.

He used it as an excuse to attack, for the 18 months he was out of office there was a sort of peace.
