What is happening in Gaza is nothing like the scale of what happened in WWII, which is still in the living memory of a lot us, it is nothing new, 44000 civilians lost their lives in London alone through bombings, horrendous as that was, it pales in comparison to what happened to the Jewish people, how soon people forget what was inflicted on millions.

When I was a young boy I used to go to an Italian shop for scraps of fish and chips which they kept warm at the back of the fryer, for a penny a bag, lovely people, when the war started their shop was smashed by idiots, they had lived in Wales all their lives. I didn't know at the time that the press had been busy stirring up trouble where there was none.

Yes they exceeded the Loose Lips sinks Ships doctrine Des. Although the War office did have more control on the media in lots of instances innocent people suffered. As regards Ivan’s remarks about civilian deaths due to the blitz in London I can sympathise with that as had first hand experience of such as regularly attended Great Ormond Street children’s hospital and getting there and back if hadn’t of been for the tube train tunnels would never had made it and this was in daylight and was piggyback on my mothers back. people lived in those tunnels . Yes indeed i know that Ivan, but was just saying this as it is really a horrid thing that is happening, not only with the Israeli Gaza War bit many other things happening Worldwide!
We all know i think what has happened in the Past, and still no one seems to learn! This World as said is becoming a place for the damned!

Those same young children will as usual if lucky enough grow up to follow in Hamas footsteps. It is a conveyer belt not only in the Middle East but also in the likes of Ireland and the divisions there. Anyone who wants to know only has to have lived through that era and know it still exists today. Every country should look after its own which means keeping those who want to change the ways of the country they want to adopt , should be denied entrance to. Australia boasts about being an International country with all its ethnic citizens , they have made a rod for their own back , and the recent processions in the streets is just a sample of what is coming. We have had ISIS, El Qaida, Hamas, Hesbola, Mau, Mau and so many others.
They never go or get beaten, just go through a transformation to another terrorist organization.
In Ireland it was considered that the IRA is gone, but no it still exists and may well comeback given a chance.

Look at what is being considered in UK and other countries , removing what they call 'Offending' statues of colonials.
Why, because some misguided person thinks that way back they did wrong.
No different to what is now occurring in Gaza, but there they do have a claim that land was taken from them by Israel.

What outrage from the Israeli when the head of the UN made a statement that the Hamas did not evolve from a vacuum. They evolved from decades of deprivation bought on by Israel. Not exact words other than the vacuum part. Now they want him deposed from the UN for stating the bleeding obvious. How the truth hurts hey. I think that the israeli leader has started digging his own hole and does not know how to stop. No matter what he does he is not going to win for sure. I have noticed that no one on site seems to have seen the UN speech from the other day.

Did see part of it and consider that guy a bit of a joke.

Palatine has every right to exist and prior to 1948 there was no problem.
Now there is a major one brought about more by Israel than Hamas.
If Israel had been happy to stay within the boundaries of land given them maybe all would be fine.

But if you attempt to keep some 2 million people in what si little better than an open prison then the time will come for a revolt.
Gaza has been denied basic goods, all kept from them by Israel.

As to Hamas, if the troops go in all they will find are the foot soldiers of Hamas.
Those who run and control it will not be there, word is most of the seniors are holed up in Turkiey

Yes, I remember the Stern gang, on a trip to Haifa and Tel Aviv in mid 50's, saw many wrecked British army vehicles, Peace Keepers, on the road, all blown up by Stern Gang who taught Arabs to make road side bombs.
