Ww2 medals

I've been attempting to research my Father's ww2 campaign medals. He sailed throughout the Battle of Atlantic mainly from Liverpool and did the Murmansk Run as well. I contacted Cardiff and they tell me there are unclaimed medals, so filled out relevant forms and waited. That was 18 months ago. Tried online and found him on Kew's website in pouch 391 which states'pouch is empty'. Don't know what that means. Added complication are two different dob's. Any suggestions?

No i see his Pouch now so thats not him!

Have you actually got his Seamans Pouch downloaded, from Kew!?
You will need his CRS10 to be able to see all his Service Record!
How did you see his Medal Card! ?? If you were told there are unclaimed Medals then they should be there! I cannot find them on the Medal listings , but will look futher into it!

His CRS 10 Should be in this Series, you will have to quote his Pouch Number if requesting this ! Plus any other info that is relevant!

The CRS10 should show if he was awarded any Medals as well.

Sounds as if you are entitled to the Atlantic Star; War medal: 1939-45 Star and the Artic Star. All paperwork goes ( or used to go ) to the MoD.
Concerning the Arctic Star application ....MoD send it to Cardiff because it's MNavy. Cardiff need proof of kinship so you need to send copy of Dad's Death Certificate. Cardiff send it back to MoD who issue the Arctic Star. There is/was a very helpful man at Cardiff who guided me through the bureaucratic morass. There were a lot of postings about this years ago and I mentioned his name and how to go about the whole process. Needless to say I can't find it.....Bet Keith knows where it is !!!

Hello I have been waiting 6 months re my father's WW2 medals and when I did get through after a long wait I was told that they had my application form but because of Covid they were short staffed and concentrating on their main job -Register of Shipping and Seamen-this was February 2021 and I have heard nothing since

The MoD have a department dealing with the issue of medals, the application form is here: https://www.gov.uk/government/public...ing-for-medals. They are unusually quick, I applied for a TRBL client and had them delivered in 7 weeks, which for the Civil Service is light speed.
