Name of officer at Vindicatrix , Hands off ,,,,, and with socks
I recently sw an enquiry into the name of the early Morning caller at the Vindicatrix , whose chant was hands off C,,,s and on with Socks . His name was Costello . He was a member of the catering instructors for the Stewards .
I remember hi well , as en ex Deckie who attended the Vindi in 1958

If had been in the infantry the morning call could of been the drill sergeant calling you and saying repeat after me and use your finger as a pointer, “ this is my rifle and this is my gun, one is for shooting and the others for fun”. At a guess his name would have been Lee Enfield. JS

I have the John Derham book on the Vindi with every single instructor in Group pictures with their wives and and names , Unfortunately they are all in small print, I am trying to get a good magnifying Glass , so keep looking in .
