Re: Hello, not new here but moved from SN
For a number of years I posted on SN and like what has been said here, it was like posting to my self. That and the constant bickering between three cliques, RO, deck officers, Engineers, you were ignored at best. And one supercilious A.H. when talking about crew members called them "lower-deck types". One of the regulars asked why posts were dropping. So I told them in no uncertain terms, how calling a class of the membership "lower-deck types" was demeaning and downright insulting to what was supposed to be fraternal organization of Merchant Navy personnel and friends. It went over like a lead balloon and I walked. No great loss to them...or me.

It would be of interest to compare their current membership with ours.
But if nothing else on this one we do get some good laughs.

They say their membership is over 100,000, but then they only have a small core of contributors, some of whom were very informative, but the majority were stormy weather contributors who enjoyed insulting people, the same people in the main stream forums espoused their political views with venom and god pity anyone who had an alternative view

Victoria, the sea bed is littered with the remains of those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our benefit.
I would not like to see their grave sullied by such persons.

A funeral pyre would be more appropriate Victoria, not many on here would like to have sailed with them, never mind lie together with them for eternity.
No doubt if we ever met them in person they may be very nice people, who knows? they may be like some mild mannered people who once they get behind the steering wheel of a car turn into maniacs, but then again they may have been a**holes all their lives

Hi Victoria.
I suppose you mean well, it shows that you were not treated with the respect that we show to women on this site. Perhaps a better way is to ignore that site and let them battle away into the sunset.

Des mate you are right there.
We attempt to treat all on this site be they male, female or any other kind of what ever with dignity and respect.
We may at time not agree, natural when so many are involved but we try to accommodate all.
