#17... Nothing to take offence there Terry, now if you had said couldn't skipper a stripper some might have taken umbrage. Or maybe a first tripper, or maybe even flipper. But a kipper is different being an endangered species nowadays and probably imported from Shanghai or somewhere. Fishing for Herring finished a number of years ago in UK waters, unless the EU has giving permission to once again open the gates to all the fishermen they put out of work. However will have to remember that one when next bump into one of the younger fraternity, and get his views on. Will make sure they are of small stature to be within Health and Safety Regulations. Cheers JS

#18... When anyone mentions that name I get visions of Ma Carrols in Belfast, can"t be the same place is it. I can imagine couples dancing among the sawdust on the floor, but certainly brings visions of unreality. Cheers JWS

I am an E of E member and have sadly just lost my old boss and long time friend 2nd engineer Stan Urion. I sailed with him on the Aureol mainly on the 12 to 4 for a few years. What a man! I will miss him a lot. I am still in touch with Bill Nelson who was also on the Aureol at the time(mid sixties) and Charlie Wright who now lives in Florida. Do they ring any bells with anyone?

    Cheers
