So when you go there what do you tell Anne, going on 'business'? Some business no doubt that is why you have to sharpen the axe each time you go.

Like Brian I was getting mixed up with this post. At first I thought it was referring to a Cyborg apprentice, then when it was clarified it was Ann Droid one of the girls from Cappys harem, it became a bit clearer as knew Brian was in trouble with Her Majestys Tax Office , for non payment of tax for a number of years. So maybe he should thank Duncan for showing him a way out by claiming for all these dependents he was responsible for, in his axe weilding days at the Sex Hotel in Whitley Bay. For those who over indulged in Newcastle Brown Ale in years gone by, these were all known as Brown ale Plonkys. Knowing Brian however from his Wine drinking days on the Ozzie coast he would never lower himself to consider drinking such a low and inferior drink to Australian wine. Cheers John S.

Good on ya Duncan, youve got it all to come to. What sort of ships are you on just now? Hope you are with a crowd who can see the bizarre and good side of life. See by your earlier post you were bored, can never remember being bored only got sick at looking at nothing but water for weeks on end, there were never enough hours in the day though to get through some of the work load we had most of the time. Good sailing, Cheers John S.

#45... Marian... Beard gone until further notice,, My excuse was having trouble with the Sleep abpnia machine.. as also had a bet on with my sister have not told her as will cost money, so found an excuse and not talking to her except over the phone. Anyhow Brian says his was much better, he however only grew so as to look the part with his battle axe. He will probably be off the air as some of his past is fast catching up with him. Cappy is getting a name as the snitch as is letting out long kept secrets, and Rob is keeping his own council and is worried about Rolf and his peg leg, and has broken off all association. I'm going up to Kalgoolie ( spelt wrong) next month so will try and see if Brian has any further claim for his tax expenditure. However knowing the type of some of his associates may have to hire a bodyguard, this may also be tax deductable. Beard gone but could return if stress gets too much.. Cheers John S\.

Re: Hi! I've made a free android app for you guys
Hi John,
When you get to Kalgooly, call in at Hay Street, not the Starting Stalls at the top, they are the cheap ones for a quicky, but the big one at the bottom of the block. That is where they do the `Brothel Tours`.
If you tell Big Shiela you know me, you will get in for Nothing.
Enjoy,
Cheers
Brian.

#45.. Was that a wee cheeky Australian Merlot or a wee cheeky Australian matelot, Marian, The Australian Navy doesnt have too many ships, so therefore not too many matelots, the ones they do get may like dinking the merlot, so you could say the Australian Matelot likes drinking the Australian merlot. If they drink too much they get the sack, and the merlot wins hands down, at last count there were a few million bottles for export to Scotland so you should be ok for a couple of weeks, however if Cappy ever gets past the Border guards it wont last too long. That is if he ever works out how to use his GPS system and arrive on your doorstep. Cheers John S

Don't ever remember getting bored at sea even on those 30 day passages on a 9 knotter (in good weather) nor on my 22 month trip, quite enjoyed the solitude of those hours on the bridge giving free reign to imagination and also practicalities. In bad weather your attention was always occupied by trying to spot other vessels amongst those breaking white cliffs in front of you, or keeping your eyes on derricks and deck gear, crew going for'd or aft, deck cargo, wind whipping away canvas covers if you didn't keep alert etc, too much to relay. In good weather and clear horizons if not chart correcting (even as 3/m) on the bridge table, then painting or varnishing around the bridge whilst on watch, getting a bronzy for the next girly bar ashore (except in commie China), but always an eye on the horizon hoping to see another ship (very rare) and if you did, getting the aldis out and flashing 'what ship where bound' hoping the barsteward wasn't better at reading or sending than you were. Off watch catching up on some reading, colouring wedding photographs (Ah! the black and white days!) for the crew with photographic paints and sable brushes I always carried always, doing a bit of model making for the officers and crews rec rooms, making knive sheaths out of pig skin ( a lot of the old guys had false teeth, so no crackling!) or canvas for other guys, painting gangway lifebuoys with the ships name and port of registry with international code flags, then the long love letters to your girl (or girls!) the same letters written again to mum, but with certain passages removed, always found something to do, cannot ever remembered being bored. Angry, frustrated, delighted, amazed in no particular order at various times, but bored never.
