Hi Just found this site. I was at Gravesend in the early 70's and sailed on the Adelaide Star for 2 1/2 years

Hi Paul,
I sailed on the ADELAIDE STAR in 1957. a big floating workhouse. just one trip 4/5 months to Oz and back.
I wrote the story in the Swinging the Lead forum and in the Seafaring Stories thread, "A voyage on the Adelaide Star" and the daft adventures we had on the coast.
I was AB then, what were you.?
Two and a half years on that, you must have some good yarns of those trips..
