K at T........... regardless of Ivan's helpful advice to Nela in #9, may I suggest your self-indulgent #10 (see quote) is intrusive and of no assistance to this lady whatsoever. For someone who offers help, there are times when you lapse into your self-important mode and can become so frustratingly tactless and unhelpful (this is one such occasion). At the moment Nela is seeking information, not unnecessary confusion.

Re: A big hello from Vienna, Austria.
I'm really starting to despair at this site to be honest. Why not just stick to what you know and keep everything else private.
Nela, If you would please give your husband's full name, date and place of birth as there are a number of options that can be looked into the find the information you require including his Discharge Book No. If certain records of his have survived, we can put together his time at sea piece by piece as well as tracing the ships Crew Agreements for the ship he sailed on, which may help trigger other information he is looking for. Unfortunately there is always a cost to obtaining theses records, but that is a decision you can take one way or the other if you intend to pursue.
