    Default GLASGOW.

Barrowfield is an area of east Glasgow in Camlachie, close to Celtic Park, home of Celtic Football Club.

    Not my words:

It is an area of working class housing enclosed by main roads and railway lines, which consequently developed a distinctive character. The original 1930s council housing scheme (built to accommodate those cleared from Glasgow's 19th century slums) became increasingly hard to let and were demolished in the 1990s to make way for more appealing houses.

Certain Deborah, can paint a better picture.

JUST TRYING TO HELP, NOTHING IS MEANT TO APPEAR NEGATIVE.

Were is Barrowford m8, What day does it open i have never heard of the place Regards Kev, Terry. ,
    .
I went to Barrowford a couple of times, I was working on the Gas Board in 1965 when I first got marrued,
I went to a house and the fellow there was a pufter and he chased me all around his kitchen, I only just escaped with my honour intact.
Anther time I went into a house, left my gas van outside, I came out twenty minutes later it had gone,
A man said was that your van ? `Yes ` says I, `Then it took off on its own down`t` hill`.
I legged it half a mile down the hill, across a busy main road down another hill and then I could see it, It had gone through someones garden fence and got bogged down in the lawn, inches from a floor to ceiling plate glass window of a lounge.
A man stood there, `I thought you would be here soon` what are you going to do about it?`
I climbed in and tried to drive it off and the back wheels spinning went deeper into his lawn, throwing grass and mud all around.
A lorry was going past so I waved him down and got him and his mate to tow me out, I had to give him an tenner.
Then the man whose garden and fence I had wrecked, I had to give him twenty five pounds , all I had.
I never went back to Barrowford, too much trouble up there.
It is in darkest Lancashire, north of Nelson somewhere.
I believe it was closed a few years ago.

    Cheers
    Brian
