    Default Good Morning.

Good morning Brian, and all you early birds.
" Titanic " is big news again. I would love to be aboard the ship tracing her first and last trip.
A massive tragedy, and the biggest loss of life being British merchant seamen. My thoughts are with them.
The one benefit was ,ships today have to have adequate lifeboat spaces. I have seen the movie.

I see on the news this morning that some of the passengers on the "Titantic" replica voyage are having second thoughts, as the ship was delayed getting into Cobh by 30 ft waves and a Lifeboat was standing by. Well they wanted a replica voyage, you pays yer money, yer takes yer chances !

Seems something macabre about the whole thing when you saw pictures of the "Balmoral" sailing from Southampton and all the drunken revellers on board, just didn't gel with me, a lot of people dressed up in clothes of the era like some macabre fancy dress party celebrating the deaths of over 1500 people, or is it just me

It may be just me .
But I can't watch anything to do with Titanic.
Think that tourist trip is a bit of an insult to all these poor victims.
All that for a wee bit of glory.

Thanks for your feedback Ron.Did you loose a relative aboard " Titanic " Most of those doing this trip are related to a victim.I read this trip was fully booked 2 years ago.So it is not the usual pleasure cruise.Even 100 years on it is so sad. John White.

I guess as many are relatives they are allowed to get pissed if they so wish. I am Irish and even to this day we have wakes, after the burial we would all go to a local hotel and have drinks and a meal as part of a final farewell. I would like to think that my family and friends would have a great hooly after gettin rid of me.
Yes Ivan I think it may be just you and perhaps many more, but if that is your way then you most certainly are correct. Though I have a feelig that maybe your father would see it different.

Good afternoon John, Re: Costa Concordia, still nobody has learned anything from 1912. It does'nt matter how many lifeboats their are if you ca'nt lower them because of the ships angle in the water. There's never enough boats, "at any time".
