Default Where did this info. come from ?

For anyone who juggles with words they might find the following interesting...
1... "Rhythms" is the longest English word without the normal vowels a, e, i, o, or u.

2... There is only one common word in English that has five vowels in a row; queuing.

3... " The sixth sick sheiks sixth sheeps sick" is said to be the toughest tongue twister in English.

4.... " Underground" and " Underfund "are the only words in the English language that begin and end with und.

5... " Dreamt" is the only English word that ends in mt.

6.. " Therein" is a 7 letter word that contains thirteen words spelled using consecutive letters ; the, he, er, here, I, there, ere, rein, re, in, therein , and herein.

7.. Bookkeeper is the only word that has 3 consecutive doubled letters.

    8. Almost is the longest commonly used word in the English language with all the letters in alphabetical
    order.

    9. " Ough "can be pronounced in 8 different ways. the following sentence contains them all; A rough -coated , dough -faced ploughman strode through the streets of Scarborough, coughing and hiccoughing .thoughtfully.

Yr #1 .Good post John,-not seen many of those-the facts, not good posts!
About your # 3 .." The sixth sick sheiks sixth sheeps sick" is said to be the toughest tongue twister in English.

I would also think it one of the least likely to be used in a conversation, unless one is terribly pithed, when it might be acceptable( and over their heads !) to one's drinking companions in The Mermaid's Tail on a Friday night!

Purple, Orange and one other I cannot recall are said to be the only ones that do not rhyme.
    But not true.

Purple rhymes with Kerple, old English name for the piece of horse harness that goes under the tail.

Borange rhymes with Orange, again an old English name for a herb.

But ads is always the case in UK they vary from north to south of the country.
