Re: Christmas
These days unfortunately just all a Money Making racket!
There is no more Xmas spirit left all made too commercial at most!
There may be the odd good Xmas splash but hard to find!
Cheers (and thats not for Xmas LOL)

Re: Christmas
In reply to Victoria
Yes indeed the Xmas in July here is much better i feel,as it has that Xmas feeling, and one can at least go out to a good Hotel (Many have this on in July) for a really good Xamas Meal, with all the trimmings ,Decorations etc
This makes one feel the Xmas spirit at least with none of the Money Making around!
Cheers

Re: Christmas
February in Echuca up on the Murray the Bowling club had an advert for Christmas lunch saying you need to book now to gaurantee a spot.
It was July 1980, I was food services manager in Myer, large department store here in Oz.
I spoke with Potti the South African store manager suggesting we put on a 'Christmas in July'
Bleddy mad is all he said, but we did it and the following year a number of local restaurants copied the idea.
Now they are all doing it.

Happy daze John in Oz.
Life is too short to blend in.
