I went aboard one of the Concord prototypes during the 1980's at Duxford air museum, it had no passenger seats and there was an array of flight testing apparatus which
left very little room and made it feel claustrophobic, I would've liked to have seen it as a passenger plane. At the same airshow a British Airways Concord visited and gave
an impressive show circling the Airfield at low altitude, it was very loud at slow speed sounded a bit like the Avro Vulcan bomber,a beautiful airplane to see flying. John Collier

The Americans were years ahead in the design of a passenger aeroplane that could fly supersonic. They were miffed,to say the least when we over took them.
They scuppered the sales of the craft by banning supersonic flights over the USA and limited the number of their airports it could fly from.

I believe the problem was also that it couldn't fly supersonic over land because of th boom so it limited it to the East coast.

Was in Maracaibo when it was being shown off around the world. Didn’t get to see it though. Never even heard it land or take off. JS

Recall seeing it in a fly over some time in the 70's but did not realize what it was, we lived only a few miles from Heathrow at the time.
It made it to Singapore at one time but as far as I know never got as far as Oz though there was talk that it would.

Crossing the Bristol channel going up towards st. Georges channel, you regularly heard Concorde's sonic boom. Trying to explain that it was not an explosion on another ship or gunfire but a sonic boom caused by a aeroplane breaking the sound barrier to our foreign crew members was a bit difficult at times and even funny at times. A bit akin to having to explain to a guy who had never seen snow, that the Scottish mountains were not painted white but we're covered in snow which of course lead to the more difficult explanation of what snow was and how it is formed!

Don't go there john. When I tried explaining the Hoar frost to him he got quite agitated as he thought I was telling him why a certain lady of the night had rejected his advances.

That is nothing compared to my wifes' embarrassment when I called her to tell her we were heading for Hound Point (Firth of Forth) and that if she came up to visit she would need to get a taxi to Hoars Landing to get a boat out to the ship.
